Hot News: Korpiklaani – Introduce New Fiddler And Announce Headlining Tour!

Finnish traditional folk metal pioneers KORPIKLAANI are currently in the studio to record the successor of last year’s successful seventh album “Ukon Wacka” (Finland: #9 ; Switzerland: #53 ; Germany: #73 ; Austria: #75). On the yet untitled upcoming album, new fiddler Tuomas Rounakari will make his debut – regarding this, the band issues the following statement:

“We took Tuomas aboard when we noticed that he was actually the only sensible choice for us. We had already thought of him before but were always afraid that he’d be too busy to join us, because KORPIKLAANI demands much time from every band member. When we finally asked him, he replied that it’d be an exciting challenge and big chance for him, so he agreed to take over the fiddle for us – we’re more than happy about his decision! At the moment the whole band is gathered in the studio where we’ve recently entered the final stage of recording, with Jonne laying down his vocal lines and only a few folk parts waiting to be recorded. If all goes to plan, the album will be ready for mixing at the end of March.”

Hot News: Deafheaven – Announces European Tour Supporting Russian Circles In April & May

As Deafheaven's current, consistently sold-out European tour with Heirophant comes to a close, the band is excited to announce another European jaunt for later this Spring, this time supporting post-rock/experimental trio Russian Circles.  The 5+ week tour will bring Deafheaven all across Europe and the UK, hitting almost every nook and cranny on the continent, and will span fro April 5th through May 15th.

Later this month, upon Deafheaven's return to the United States, they'll gear up for a batch of West Coast shows with Whirr and Marriages, taking them down to Austin's legendary SXSW Music Conference, and then out East with black metal/shoegaze masters Alcest.  A full list of tour dates can be found below, with more exciting performances to be announced for SXSW very soon.
