In the Grip of Chaos, the debut full-length from Swedeath upstarts ERUPTED is out now on Abyss Records.
The album was recorded at Kloster Productions by Robin ”Rojne” Svensson, who worked with the band on their sold-out 2010 Faces of Death EP. To capture the true essence of the old-school Swedish death metal recordings that influenced their sound, ERUPTED recorded the bass and drum tracks live on analog tape.

“The ten songs that make up this ‘In The Grip Of Chaos’ will be a live bullets as they have everything to make the audience goes crazy headbanging with infernal rhythms of songs like ‘Blazing Fall of Heaven’ or the passages pasty songs like ‘Path of Perdition’ or ‘Dark Mistress’ that reminds me of some old ENTOMBED.” – Tania Giménez, www.queensofsteel.com
“Erupted do not practice the typical overdrive and melody that their hundreds of peers thrive off. This is a much cruder sound, redolent of brutes like Cianide or Autopsy.” – From the Dust Returned
Erupted was formed in 2010 when a former project of three members of Beyond Hell, a band plagued with lineup changes, decided to make a new start. After playing several local shows during 2010 and in 2011, Erupted recorded a three-song EP entitled Faces of Death. Released on June 1st, Faces of Death sold out in 2 hours.
Playing off that momentum, Erupted proudly unleashed their full-length debut, In the Grip of Chaos, upon the masses via Abyss Records.
Erupted’s musical style is based on old school elements with a modern and progressive touch, as well as an philosophical and occult lyrical element.
