One of the best-kept secrets in modern outsider music, at long last COMMON EIDER, KING EIDER deliver a special vinyl LP pressing of Taaleg Uksur, set for international release on June23rd via PESANTA URFOLK. Originally released on a super-limited cassette for last year’s Stella Natura festival, Taaleg Uksurcomprises four sprawling, shape-shifting tracks, each one a unique psycho-acoustic devotional. As hushed voices shepherd through a bleak landscape into the heart of the darkest and coldest of woods, COMMON EIDER, KING EIDER verily create very special music: always unique in approach and always emotionally stirring, this San Francisco collective utilize elements of ambient, drone, folk, rock, and metal, the music focusing a simple array of instrumentation on communicating the unknown. While nature has long been a textural/spiritual theme, COMMON EIDER, KING EIDER also explore human nature, as the esteemed HammerSmashedSound.com have accurately noted – „the nature of our experiences and desires, the nature of human relationships, the nature of the limitations of human understanding” – and nowhere is this more vividly played out than on their latest Taaleg Uksur. Featuring vocal visitations from A.C. Way of Sutekh Hexen, this special PESANTA URFOLK vinyl edition of Taaleg Uksur will be packaged in a beautiful gatefold with spot metallic varnish, further enhanced with screen-printed metallic text and sigil, and design by Kevin Gan Yuen.
