Hot News: Dead In The Dirt West Coast Invasion Begins Tomorrow Band Confirms Europe And Southeast Asia Tours

This week Atlanta’s DEAD IN THE DIRT take their depraved anthems to stages throughout the Western half of the country on a sixteen-city rampage alongside Homewrecker and Harm’s way, embarking out of Saint Louis this Wednesday, September 11th.

Additionally, DEAD IN THE DIRT has locked down two international tours, subsequent to the new rash of US shows, bringing the impending itinerary to a confirmed total of fifty four cities in front of the firing squad. Just two weeks after the American tour, the band will ship out for a month-long routing across all of Europe into the second week of November. DEAD IN THE DIRT‘s debut LP The Blind Hole unloads twenty-two tracks drenched in the band’s straightedge/vegan politics delivered through their downtuned, caustic grindcore/powerviolence at its most oppressive strength. Recorded at Bricktop Recording Studio with Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos) in Chicago this April, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, All Pigs Must Die, Baptists, Sleep) the album saw release via Southern Lord in early August.

Stream all of The Blind Hole at Invisible Oranges/BrooklynVegan.

„…more precision of attack, more speed; more low-end in the open-string chords of the drop-D tuning; more power in the downstrokes, the feedback and the vocals; more resonance; and, importantly, more swing in the grooves… But mostly the album lets you understand this band, for 22 short songs in a row, as one bright beam of detailed aggression, a physical force.” The New York Times

„…Dead in the Dirt have crafted a filler-free classic for the hardcore genre. The versatility and strength of The Blind Hole will be impressive to anyone versed in hardcore’s various hyper-splintered genres, mainly due to the band’s ease when it comes to seamlessly combining so many different heavy styles. 4/5” – All Music Guide

„The band has already set the bar incredibly high for themselves with Fear and Void. The Blind Hole sees the band jutting out into alternating territories and burning through songs as though they were covered in petrol. 8.5/10” – Metal Injection

„…their His Hero Is Gone influence shine more, as Nelson’s touch lets Dead in the Dirt take up all the space they didn’t consume on their previous efforts… it possesses enough black space to create an ambiguous bottom.” – Pitchfork

„Any qualms one might have about their politics will melt in the face of its onslaught, which is not interested in delivering ethical lessons so much as it is in cramming steel wool into your ears.” – Invisible Oranges

„The Blind Hole is a rich metaphor, with layers of social, psychological, and political connotation, marking a nebulous jumping-off point for the group.” – Creative Loafing

„Combine crystal clear production with this level of volatility and you really are in for a musical treat of the most delightfully masochistic design. If this record doesn’t get your blood boiling and your fists clenching you are to be pitied for already being completely dead inside and beyond reproach anyway.” – Metal Insider
