DEW-SCENTED vocalist Leif Jensen comments aboutThrown To The Lions as follows: „TTTL is among my personal fave-tracks on ‘Icarus’ and one that we all knew right away would become a good addition for our new live-set! This song is viciously straight-forward and comes with some pretty wicked guitar riffing. Lyrically the edge was to portray the truly barbaric bloodlust in ancient times at gladiator fights and the brutality of the so-called ‘damnatio ad bestias’. That’s some of the most extreme punishment in history, especially since it was turned into such a public celebration ritual! It’s definitely a gruesome topic that effortlessly supports the heaviness of the song…and the subliminal tortured screams on the second lead-guitar part are quite intense too!”
Icarus will be released as a limited first edition Digipak including 3 bonus tracks as well as on vinyl (black and limited coloured versions) on July, 27th/30th via Metal Blade Records in Europe!
