Ukrainian black metal pioneers DRUDKH have released a track from their new split EP alongside Anglo-Saxon spearheads WINTERFYLLETH. The title „…W Krainie Drzew” is now streaming now at Stereogum.
„…W Krainie Drzew” was originally written and recorded by HEFEYSTOS (Poland) in 1997. The song’s emotional black metal and heathen background rooted in ancient Slavonic nature was a natural precursor to DRUDKH‘s signature sound.
The split EP „‘Thousands of Moons Ago / The Gates” is now available for pre-order on the Season of Mist e-shop. It will feature four cover songs recorded by both bands as a tribute to their early influences.
1. DRUDKH – …W Krainie Drzew (HEFEYSTOS cover)
2. DRUDKH – Ten, Ktery Se Vyhyba Svetlu (UNCLEAN cover)
3. DRUDKH – Recidivus (SACRILEGIUM cover)
4. WINTERFYLLETH – The Gates (HATE FOREST cover)
„Thousands of Moons Ago / The Gates” will see a release on January 2014 as a dark blue, hand-numbered 12″ LP limited to 666 copies. The DRUDKH tracks from this split will also be included on a separate singles collection titled „Eastern Frontier in Flames” to be released on the 17th of January, which also includes their tracks from the „Anti-Urban” and „Slavonic Chronicles” EPs.
Updated DRUDKH news will be made available at the Season of Mist website and the band’s Facebook page.
