In the 1990s, Hekate were co-founders of the German Neofolk scene, and their early releases belong to the undisputed classics of the genre. As these are sold out or hardly available for a long time, Auerbach Tonträger will re-release one title of Hekate‘s backcatalogue on each first Friday of every month from October till December.
Hekate’s debut “Hambach 1848” will make the start on October 7th, 2011. The album which was originally released back in 1998 in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of the German Märzrevolution (‘March Revolution’) features a lot of folk-songs from the German democracy movement of that era. It was originally only released as an LP in a limited print-run and hasn’t been available for many years. Now, it is released on CD for the very first time, in Digipak format, with re-worked design and limited to 700 copies.
