28.09 in Finland,1.10 in Estonia & 5.10 in Europe 2012, Metsatöll are proud to release the CD/DVD “Tuska” of a performance captured this July in Helsinki at the festival Tuska Open Air. The live album was produced in cooperation with the Spinefarm Records Finland. In addition to the festival gig, the DVD contains videos to the tracks “Vaid vaprust” and “Küü”.
Moreover, a special combo edition of a picture vinyl LP and the DVD, limited to 500 copies, will also be released.
“This time the vinyl is a little bit different — the design is printed straight onto the disc, under the grooves, instead of the traditional cardboard sleeve,” explains the drummer Marko Atso. Both the vinyl record and the accompanying DVD label carry the painting “Järsaku serval” (“On the Edge of a Precipice”) by the legendary Jüri Arrak.
Singer-guitarist Markus Teeäär comments: “At first we just wanted to film it for our own purposes, in order to even see what we looked like on a 25 metre stage. But then it all came together so fabulously it would have been unfair to keep it just to ourselves.”
Tuska Open Air is one of the biggest Nordic metal fests, held for the 15th time this year.
Two tracks, “Kahjakaldad” and “Muhu õud”, released to the public on Spinefarm Finland’s YouTube channel today, August 27th, provide a taste of the forthcoming release.
Meanwhile, the Tölls are already flying towards North America together with Finnish mates Korpiklaani and Moonsorrow as well as Týr from Faroe Islands in order to spend a month touring in Canada and the US.
