Originally released a decade ago, the debut album from French Cosmic Doom Masters MONOLITHE is being reissued by Debemur Morti Productions. This new edition of “Monolithe I“, recorded, mixed and mastered in March 2003 at RR Studio by Marc Canlers & Sylvain Bégot, will be released as a noble digipack CD and will include additional liner notes as well as complete new artwork courtesy of Norwegian artist Robert Høyem from At The Ends. The front cover can be seen here.
According to a review at MetalStorm.net, “Monolithe I“ is “bitter, depressive, soul-crushing, heart-rending and beautiful at the same time, it imprisons you in a world of gentle grief and sorrow, where you lie bleeding willingly. Every single instrument taking part in the world of “Monolithe I“ sounds stunning and unerring, with every member of the band pouring his soul to the atmosphere of the compositions. Funeral doom is what MONOLITHE play, but they don’t move in the nightmarish paths of this genre, they prefer to dwell in its most depressive and bittersweet soundscapes and they succeed into making the listener surrender in his own esoteric world of bleeding emotions”.
Line-up on “Monolithe I“ :
Richard Loudin: Vocals
Sylvain Bégot: Lead & Rhythm Guitars, Keyboards, Devices
Benoît Blin: Rhythm Guitars
Nicolas Chevrollier: Lead Guitars
Marc Canlers: Bass
This enhanced and remastered version will be available by the end of August 2013.
