In 1997, Prophecy issued as one of its very first releases the self-titled debut EP of Oberon. After the album “Mysteries” (1998), the vinyl single “Big Brother” (2000) – both self-released – and more than ten years of silence, Oberon has now re-signed to Prophecy Productions. Oberon has always represented a unique sound combining atmospheric acoustic ballads and powerful rock compositions with meaningful, poetic lyrics touching upon the ancient mysteries, man’s relationship with nature, the laws of being and individual freedom. The symbol of Oberon is the crescent moon, symbolizing something hidden coming into view.
Oberon mastermind Baard Titlestad on the renewal of his cooperation with Prophecy: “Being back on Prophecy feels good. The label is a beacon of integrity representing many of the same ideals that I adhere to in my creative work. Art is a tool for transformation, and it feels wonderful to be able to communicate my work through a company that intuitively understands what it’s all about”.
Besides an enhanced reissue of the underrated “Mysteries” album, Oberon are already working on a new full-length entitled “Dream Awakening“. More information on these releases when the time is right.
