Greek Black Metal masters ROTTING CHRIST streaming a video for the song Χ Ξ Σ („666”) off their latest album, ‘ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ’ („Do What Thou Wilt”). The video is streaming exclusively in Europe at Terrorizer UK!
‘ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ‘ means „Do What Thou Wilt” and links ROTTING CHRIST to their heritage as pioneers of Black Metal. From underground heroes to international headliner status, the Greek band brings together elements from Death, Heavy and Gothic Metal with a rich native heritage element without ever betraying their black roots. ‘ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ’ takes this progression even further as ROTTING CHRIST forges their own sound, and augment it with female vocals, and a wide array of instrumentation. Inspired by ancient cultures around the globe, ‘ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ’ sees ROTTING CHRIST employ poetry from the Sumerians and Incas as well as a Romanian folk song, the tale of an undead Russian water spirit, Voodoo, Zoroastrianism and other sources.
‘ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ‘ („Do What Thou Wilt„) was released on March 1st, 2013 and is available on the Season of Mist e-shop. Some very few copies of the limited edition Digibox including a pendant in a velvet bag, a flag, and a Digipak CD with the bonus track „Welcome to Hel” will be available during the summer festivals at the official Season of Mist stand. A full stream of the record can be found at the ROTTING CHRIST Bandcamp page.
