CYNIC TO RELEASE A NEW EP
Forefathers of Progressive Metal CYNIC have recorded a new EP entitled „Carbon-Based Anatomy”, to be released on November 11th in Europe (November 15th in North America). Contrary to last year’s „Re-Traced”, this new EP exclusively consists of brand new material.

The artwork was designed by the great Robert Venosa, the artist behind the cover artworks of „Focus”, „Traced in Air” and „Re-Traced”. We regret to announce that Robert passed away last month. RIP.
Paul Masvidal describes this new EP as „both a philosophical as well as a musical journey, one that begins in the Amazon jungle on the lips of a shamanic wisewoman (as portrayed by Amy Correia) and ends in outerspace”.
Last but not least, the fans will be excited to know that all bass parts on „Carbon-Based Anatomy” were recorded by Mr. Sean Malone.
THY CATAFALQUE ALBUM DETAILED
As announced late July, THY CATAFALQUE recently signed on Season of Mist. The Hungarian Avant-garde Metal act’s forthcoming album is entitled „Rengeteg” and will hit the stores on November 11th in Europe (January 10th, 2012 in North America). Here are the details:

The artwork was created by Portuguese photographer Rui Luz and THY CATAFALQUE mastermind Tamás Kátai. „The album title means ‘vast, trackless forest’ in obsolete Hungarian language”, Tamás explains. „It’s a kind of summary of what the whole record is about. This word is a symbol, it means more than merely a forest”.

GENERATION KILL, the new band fronted by Exodus singer Rob Dukes, will see the release of their debut album „Red White and Blood” next week in Europe and on September 27th in North America. The title track of this pure Thrash Metal outburst is now available for free download!

GHOST BRIGADE VIDEO
Finland’s GHOST BRIGADE recently unveiled the video for the song „Clawmaster”, off new album „Until Fear No Longer Defines Us”. This computer graphics marvel was directed and animated by French artist Fursy Teyssier (LES DISCRETS) and can be watched on Season of Mist’s YouTube channel.
On other news, we are proud to announce that „Until Fear No Longer Defines Us” charted in Finland, at ranks #7 in the national charts and #2 in the Rumba charts! It also reached #90 in Germany’s official trend charts and won the „soundcheck” of the German Metal Hammer. Congratulations guys!
„Until Fear No Longer Defines Us” was released as a CD digipak limited to the first pressing, a double gatefold coloured vinyl with digital download card, and a collector’s box set available in two different versions for male and female. All editions are available on Season of Mist’s e-shop.
AVA INFERI ANNOUNCE NEW DRUMMER
Rune Eriksen, guitarist and mastermind of AVA INFERI, issued the following statement:
„We are very pleased to announce that the new drummer for Ava Inferi is none other than Sasha Horn, previously of NOVEMBERS DOOM. After having had some contact with Sasha over the last few years I am now very happy we have come to this joint conclusion. The last of the lost keys has been recovered!
„I have for some time now wanted to strengthen the fundament of the band, to go deeper and to include some heavier and more powerful elements into the sound of our creations. I truly believe that Sasha possesses the necessary qualities to make this happen, and I am highly confident about the next steps in our path together”.
„I was ecstatic beyond belief when this opportunity was brought to me, and needless to say, I jumped at the chance”, Sasha comments. „I’m a huge fan of what Ava Inferi has created, and we anticipate wonderful things as a result of this new union”.
In other news, AVA INFERI has inked a deal with London based booking agency Mythology-Live (whose roster includes bands such as ELECTRIC WIZARD, ULVER, MAYHEM and many more). As Rune says, „Mythology has a worldwide reputation for providing unique, cutting edge music – delivering a vast array of talent to promoters in Australia, Asia, Europe and South America”.
