Originally released in 2002, „Í Blóði Og Anda” is SÓLSTAFIR‘s long-lost and much sought after first album. A far cry from the refined and expressive post-rock of 2011’s „Svartir Sandar”, their debut is a unique experienced inspired by primitive black metal and crust. This album went out-of-print almost immediately upon its release, and has been out of circulation ever since. The album is now remastered, repackaged, and includes a bonus second disc full of previously unreleased material. „Í Blóði Og Anda” will be available in a double CD and various LP formats via the Season of Mist E-Shop.
SÓLSTAFIR recently announced their first US appearance as part of next year’s Maryland Deathfest. Furthermore the Icelanders have already been confirmed for the 2014 editions of the Karmøgeddon (NO) and Rock Hard (DE) festivals.
Previously, SÓLSTAFIR performed a KEXP Radio Session as part of the Iceland Airwaves Festival. The highly regarded quartet’s three song set, live at the KEXP Hostel, is available for viewing on KEXP’s official YouTube channel. This showcase witnesses the band playing select tracks off of 2011’s „Svartir Sandar” and „Köld” (2009). Additionally, the band was interviewed about this performance via No Clean Singing.
SÓLSTAFIR‘s critically-acclaimed latest album, „Svartir Sandar” is currently streaming in its entirety via their Bandcamp page. „Svartir Sandar” is still available here.
