Spinefarm Records have signed Swedish melodic hard rockers Dynazty. At the moment the band is busy in the studio finalizing their fourth album, titled “Renatus”, that will be released early 2014.
Stockholm based Dynazty released their debut album ”Bring The Thunder” in 2009 and made their first European tour. 2011 the second album “Knock You Down” was #1 on the Sweden’s metal charts.Third album “Sultans of Sins” was produced by Peter Tägtgren and after album was released band toured with Sabaton in Sweden and even had plenty of shows in China.
This is what band says about up-coming album:
This album marks our fourth release as Dynazty but in many ways it feels like our first.
After four years, three studio albums and shows on almost every continent of the globe we took the time in late 2012 to really figure out what we wanted this band to be in the future.
Updating ourselves both musically and sonically to a place where we felt that we wanted to be right now was paramount and once we started to write “Renatus” everything fell into place well. We tried a lot of things differently this time around. Instead of working on multiple songs simultaneously like we’ve done before, we focused on one song at a time to give it the time it needed. Also we threw away any ideas that didn’t feel good from the get-go and only worked on the ones we felt had true potential. This resulted in a longer but more focused writing process.
During this process we all felt that founding member and bassplayer, Joel Fox Apelgren grew distant from the band and shortly after he announced his departure. This left us with the challenge of finding a new bassplayer who would commit fully to us just months before the start of the recordings of “Renatus”. Luckily for us we came across Jonathan Olsson. A man with the mindset we needed and the basschops to pull of this new and a lot more technical style of music compared to what we’ve done before. Jonathan has really added another layer to our sound with his four finger technicalities. Speaking of technicalities, our drummer George has reinvented his drumming for this album. He has now figured out a way to play fast double bassdrum patterns with one foot(must see to understand)!
Everybody in the band is really pushing the boundaries for their musicianship with “Renatus” and the experience of personally learning something new is as always very rewarding.
Heavier and faster-paced music with big arrangements built around soaring vocal melodies is the recipe for this album and talking about first’s, this is the first album with our new bassplayer and bandmember Jonathan Olsson, the first to be produced by ourselves and the first to be released on Spinefarm, Finland.
Signing to Spinefarm will enable us to work with a label that fully understands our genre and vision and will be able to thoroughly give us the support we need. We are extremely excited to be a part of this label with so many great bands and artists and we believe it will be beneficial on all parts.
Heads up for a single and music video coming your way this year and once “Renatus” is released we’ll bring the thunder with it in our live-show when we go on a touring spree across the globe!
