Hot News: Steve Hackett’s „Chamber Of 32 Doors“ – exclusive stream at Planet Rock (UK) & revealing full line-up of guest musicians

Impatient Steve Hackett’s fans worldwide will be able to hear his new version of Genesis’ Chamber of 32 Doors when Planet Rock Radio exclusively premiers the song. The track is an exclusive taster from Hackett’s upcoming album Genesis II Revisited out on 22nd October and it can be found at the following link alongside a special video message from Steve explaining his thinking behind the track: http://www.planetrock.com/music/world-exclusive-steve-hackett-stream

“I’ve always liked this song harmonically – says Hackett – It’s an Anglo-American hybrid with unexpected gusts of passion.” Talking more in depth about his reinterpretation of the classic, the virtuoso tells us “I wanted to re-play the original guitar parts with more control and sustain. Having tracked up string and flute players, this new version started to take on symphonic proportions. In contrast, the new subtle distant wailing guitars add to the song’s unnerving quality. Nad Sylvan’s expressive soulful range also reinvigorates the song for me, while sympathetically echoing Gabriel’s vocal performance.”

Next to Hackett’s regular band, Chamber of 32 Doors features a top selection of very special guests including Swedish vocalist Nad Sylvan (Agents of Mercy), Rachel Ford (Regent String Quartet) on cello, Christine Townsend on violin, Dick Driver on double bass and John Hackett on flute.

Wherever you are, tune in to Planet Rock (www.planetrock.com) from Thursday at 7pm BST for an early slice of Genesis II Revisited. The stream will be live for 7 days only, and with the release date still a month away, this is an opportunity you can’t afford to miss.

Steve has also put together a special commentary for his fans on his website which details his thinking behind and approach to each of the tracks he has re-imagined on the new album. You can find that here – http://www.hackettsongs.com/news/newsGeneral46.html
