Audiosiege is proud to welcome Joel Grind of punk metal combatants Toxic Holocaust, to their recording ranks. Grind will be partnering with Brad Boatright at their new location in Buzz Or Howl Studios (15 SE 15th Ave, Portland, OR) and will be handling all the mixing duties for Audiosiege.
Comments Boatright: “I’m incredibly excited, as Joel brings a great ear, some killer gear, and years of experience to the studio.”
Brad Boatright currently resides in Portland, Oregon. He’s spent 15 years as the guitarist and vocalist in From Ashes Rise, cutting his teeth on live shows while nurturing a passion for capturing the intensity of the stage with the recorded medium. As a self-proclaimed „musician’s engineer,” he’s been responsible for the remastering of Sleep’s monolithic Dopesmoker and High on Fire’s The Art of Self Defense, as well as mastering recent recordings from Nails, Integrity, Modern Life is War, and more.
Joel Grind also resides in Portland and is the founding member of Toxic Holocaust as well as Acid Rat Records. Having always been interested in audio since his early teens, Grind has taken an active roll in the recording and mixing process of everything he has been involved in. Toxic Holocaustmutated into existence in 1999, when Grind merged his love for classic punk and metal into his ideal band. Like his influences – Bathory, Venom, English Dogs, Possessed, Broken Bones – Toxic Holocaust offers up blazing riffs, gravel-throated vocals, and a deadly fixation on the evil in man and a post-apocalyptic world wrapped in a DIY attitude.
Since 2009, Audiosiege has been helping independent artists get the sound they deserve, providing experience and trained ears to critically listen to the music on deck and enhance it to its fullest potential. In four years, Audiosiege has gone from a nighttime hobby to help friends to a full-time business, thanks in large part to many of the great releases and artists they’ve helped along the way. Audiosiege believes that music is best treated on a custom level, and thus try to make the process as „artist-involved” as they can, while valuing feedback and making it fun by keeping the enthusiasm level high. Audiosiege’s process focuses on the importance of critical listening as well as workflow, using modern digital techniques, accurate monitoring, and a finely tuned, acoustically treated workspace
