The anticipation continues to build as the release date of WHITECHAPEL’s new album Our Endless War draws nearer. April 25th will see the release of the band’s fifth full-length record and fourth for Metal Blade Records. Our Endless War is a ruthlessly honed album that refuses to compromise on brutality; it is also by far WHITECHAPEL’s most streamlined, atmospheric, and emotionally powerful release, pushing every aspect of their sound to the next level.
Today WHITECHAPEL are unleashing another crushing track from the new album. Artist Direct is hosting an exclusive stream of the lyric video for the album’s title track „Our Endless War”. It can be viewed HERE.
Vocalist Phil Bozeman commented on what inspired him to write the song:
„The focus behind the song „Our Endless War” is not what a lot of people believe it to be. A lot of people will think it’s just a stab at our government but it’s more than that. The United States as a whole has been in this sort of downward spiral for quite some time now. It has to do with just us as a nation; our citizens, government, culture, etc. I truly feel like we are becoming those „stupid Americans” that we are stereotyped as because of things like reality TV, gluttony, our healthcare system, school shootings and so many other things. I’ve been around the world and seen how different countries treat each other. It seems as though they are truly „united” as one whereas it seems like we hate each other. I love my country and my freedom and I will always be a patriotic citizen of the United States but I’m scared of what the future holds for our generations to come. It seems as though we are fighting an endless war and we will never find that victory.”
During the recording of Our Endless War the band shot a series of behind the scenes and in-studio videos documenting the process. Today the second video from the recording sessions has been posted. This episode focuses on the tracking sessions for the album. It showcases each member sharing their part in tracking the riffs that made up the album and can be viewed HERE.

When it came to tracking the album the band considered no one beyond Mark Lewis, who helmed Whitechapel. For the artwork, the band turned again to Aaron Marsh, who suppliedWHITECHAPEL with its stark, arresting imagery, but again they wanted to push things to the next level. With the sound maturing the band felt like the artwork needed to reflect that. A new logo was introduced (the old logo is classic Whitechapel, and that’s not something the band plans on getting rid of) however as the band grows and changes they felt like they needed the logo to represent the maturity of WHITECHAPEL.
