A metal szeretete hajtott minket és ez adja a banda erejét. Ha nincs meg a motiváció, hogy játssz, akkor egy banda sem él sokáig.
Az ötödik albumotok jelenik meg „Long Live Heavy Metal” címmel. Mit is várhatnak a rajongók ettől a 12 daltól?
Szemérmetlenül tiszta heavy metál album lett. Nem szórakozunk. Azt csináljuk, amit szeretünk.
Byron Stroud lett az új basszusgitárosotok, akivel már egy ideje kapcsolatban vagytok. Gondolom így emberileg hamar beépült hozzátok és könnyen teljesítette a zenekari elvárásokat?
Byron közeli barátunk már évek óta. Ugyanabban a városban élünk és korábban már játszott is velünk a 2009-es turnén beugrósként. Már régen elmondta, hogy szeretne teljes értékű tag lenni a bandában, de csak mostanában lett ideje.
A stúdiózás során milyen felejthetetlen élményben volt részetek?
A felvétel nagyszerű és eredményes tapasztalat volt. Nyugodt, de termékeny. Kihoztuk belőle a legtöbbet és gyorsan végeztünk.
Melyik dalra terveztek klipet? Melyik az a dal, amelyik szerinted kiemelkedik „Long Live Heavy Metal” lemezen?
Az első videó a Metal Woman-ből lesz. Szerintem minden szám egyenlően kiváló.
Mit jelent számodra a heavy metal stílus? Szerinted mennyire kedvelt manapság a tradicionális metal? Kit kedvelsz leginkább ebben a műfajban?
Nem számít, melyik stílus a legnépszerűbb, az emberek mindig az eredetihez, a metál gyökeréhez hasonlítják. Az igaz metal sosem kopik ki és minden trendet túlél.
A Goatwhore, Angelus Apatrida és a Havok társaságával egy nagyszerű turnétok lesz Európában. Mivel készültök, mennyire fogjátok elővenni a régebbi dalokat is?
Nagyon várjuk már. Próbálunk minden albumunkból kiválasztani olyan számokat, hogy meg legyen az egyensúly.
Nyári fesztiválokon is jelen lesztek? A klubbos bulikat vagy a fesztiválokat szereted jobban?
Idén nem lépünk fel nyári fesztiválon. Nincs ilyen, minden hely ugyanolyan jó, amíg tele van lelkes rajongókkal.
Egyre több banda van Kanadában akinek sikerül figyelemreméltót alkotnia. Sokat erősödött a színtér az elmúlt években? Milyen a metal élet arrafelé?
Kanada igen kiterjedt és sokszínű, így nehéz mindig képben lenni, hogy mi történik egyes városban. A következő kanadai bandák mindenképp figyelmet érdemelnek, játszottunk már velük: Bison BC, Cancer Bats, Waster, Evil Survives, Tyrants Blood, Haggatha, Black Wizard.

Your fan base is growing and you achieve bigger and bigger successes. What is the major strength in 3 Inches of Blood?
Our desire to play metal is the major strength of this band. Without it, no metal band would or should survive
You’ll release your fifth album “Long Live Heavy Metal”. What can the fans expect from these 12 tracks?
Its an unashamedly pure heavy metal album. We’re not messing around here. This is what we love and what we do.
Your new bassist is Byron Stroud. You’ve been in contact with him for a time now;did he fit in easily and meet up the expectations of the band?
Byron’s been a close friend of the band and to each of us as individuals for many years. We live in the same city and he’s actually played with us before, filling in on a tour we did in 2009. He’s expressed interest in playing with us full time for many years. It’s only recently that he freed himself from other projects, so he asked if he could join.
What experiences did you have during the studio recordings?
Recording was a fun and rewarding experience. Very relaxed but very productive. We made the most of it and finished very fast.
Which song will have a video? Which is the most outstanding track on „Long Live Heavy Metal”?
The first video will be for Metal Woman. I think every track is equally outstanding
What does Heavy Metal mean to you? Do you think traditional metal is still popular? Who is your favorite in the genre?
No matter what genre is the most popular at the moment, people always refer back to the traditional stuff, the roots of metal. True metal never gets tired and it will outlive all trends
You gonna have an awesome tour with Goatwhore, Angelus Apatrida and Havok in Europe. How do you prepare for it and do you plan to play the older songs as well?
We are very excited for it. We always try to bring a good mix of all our albums into our set list.
Will you play on any summer festival? Do you prefer club concerts or festivals?
No Summer festivals for us this year. We don’t have a preference, both are great as long as there are enthusiastic fans there to see us.
There are more and more outstanding bands in Canada. Do you think the scene got stronger in the past years? What is the metal life like there?
Canada is very wide spread and diverse so its hard to know whats going on in every city all the time. Check out these Canadian bands that we know and have played gigs with: Bison BC, Cancer Bats, Waster, Evil Survives, Tyrants Blood, Haggatha, Black Wizard.
