Baroness Interjú

Üdvözöllek titeket a Kronos Mortus nevében.

A show-k fantasztikusak voltak.

Miért épp erre a képre esett a borító választás? Van valami összefüggés a mondani valótokkal? Mit szeretnétek átadni az embereknek a zenétekkel együtt?

Summer Welch – Meg akartuk adni a hallgatóknak a lehetőséget személyes tapasztalatok szerzéséhez, hogy valami különlegeset kapjanak abból amit hallanak és látnak.

Zenéltek esetleg más zenekarokban is?

Gondolom, turnéztok a lemez kapcsán.

Summer Welch – A turnézás első pár éve a legemlékezetesebb számomra.

Voltunk néhányszor Magyarországon is.

Summer Welch – Mindennek megvan a helye.

Köszönöm a válaszokat, sok sikert kívánok. Végezetül mit üzennétek magyar rajongóknak?

ENGLISH VERSION:

Welcome to Kronos Mortus! Please, tell me more about your band and your musical genre! Who gave you inspiration to play this kind of music?

Summer Welch – We try to create music that represents us as four individuals. Our inspiration comes from living, and the many things that we discover along the way.

Your second full-length ‘Blue Record’ has been released recently, how did the media and the fans respond it? How do you feel, is it better then your debut, the ‘Red’ album from 2007?

Summer Welch – We just returned from a three week tour in the states where we played mostly new material. The shows were amazing. The crowds were energetic and emotional. There were lots of high fives and hugs. It felt good.

What kind of things have an influence on your lyrics? How does the songwriting process look like in your band?

Summer Welch – We all listen to a wide variety of music, and our aesthetic tastes are also different. I think everything influences our band. The good, the bad, and the ugly. There is something to be learned from everything.

Why did you choose this picture as a cover picture? Is there something that you want to tell us through this artwork? What do you want to give to the listeners with your music?

Summer Welch – We want to give the listener the opportunity to have a personal experience and gain something unique to themselves out of what they hear and or view.

Does any of you have other bands or side-projects? If so, then what should we know about them?

Summer Welch – Pete plays in a band called Valkyrie.

I guess, you’re on tour with this album. Where do you like to play the most? Do you have favourite places or places you’ve never played but you wanted to?

Summer Welch – I have always wanted to go to Russia, and Southeast Asia

What is your favourite memory from touring?

Summer Welch – The first couple years of touring are the most memorable for me. None of us knew what we were doing. We just got in the van and went. It was all new and exciting. It was hot and sweaty. Tender and rude.

What do you think, is there any difference between the European and the American musicians’ mentality? Have you ever been in Europe or in Hungary?

Summer Welch – They both have their positive and negative aspects. European audiences tend to be more open and accepting. We all love touring Europe. The cities are old and wise. We have been to Hungry a couple times. I look forward to returning.

What is your opinion of the underground music and what do you think of those bands who have a contract with the most popular labels?

Summer Welch – Everything has its place. There will always be an underground scene, and there will always be big rock stars.

What do you do in your civilian life? Is it difficult for you to manage two lifestyles at the same time?

Summer Welch – I think it can be difficult if you let it be. I relish both aspects. I enjoy touring and meeting new people and soaking up different cultures and lifestyles, but on the same hand I like being grounded and keeping to myself when the time is appropriate.

Many thanks for your answers, I wish you the best! Do you have something to say to the Hungarian fans?
