Hell, a zenekar neve az underground arcoknak ismerős lehet, mert már 2005-ben megjelent a debütáló lemezetek. Hogyan értékeled „Fiers et Victorieux” kiadványt? Szerinted „sokan” megszerethették az eltelt évek alatt a zenéteket?

Ez az első albumunk azóta és számunkra ez egy nagy zenei szövetség kezdete. Nagy meglepetésünkre, sok embert megérintett az album Québec-ben, többet, mint amennyire számítottunk. Nem hiszem, hogy nemzetközileg is ilyen jó lenne a fogadtatás, de underground szinten megszereztük sokak figyelmét, és ez is volt a célunk.
Mindketten zenéltek az Ur Falc’h-ban is. Mikor támadt az ötletetek, hogy egy kicsit másabb zenével egy új név alatt létrehozzátok ezt a bandát?
Az Ur Falc’h-ot rögtön a ’Fiers et Victorieux’ után készítettük el, és egy sokkal hangulatosabb útra szerettünk volna lépni vele. Az Ur Falc’h jelenleg halottnak tekinthető.
Black metalon belül hova sorolnád a Brume d’Automne stílusát? A szövegek nagyrészt miről szólnak?
A stílusunkat mi „Metal Noir Québécois”-nek nevezzük (Québeci sötét metal). A zene maga black metal, de a dalszövegek és a témák a hagyományainkhoz, kultúránkhoz, történelmünkhöz és függetlenségünkhöz kötődnek.
Fontos esemény, hogy most jelent meg a legújabb albumotok, és engem igazán elvarázsolt. Könnyedén megérintett a vad nyersességével és a helyenkénti tradicionális folkjával. Mi mindent rejt a 8 dal, mit mondanál róluk?
Rengeteg időt dolgoztunk vele. Nagyjából 5 éven át… Büszkék vagyunk a kiadványra és egyben csodálatos, hogy ennyi idő után végre megjelent.
Nyolc számnyi harag, düh és büszkeség!
Nagyon sok zenekar létezik manapság, de én úgy érzem, van egy sajátos arculata a daloknak és többszöri hallgatás után megszerethető! A korábbi lemezhez képest miben változott a zenétek, hiszen 7 év telt el?
A zenénk követi a mi fejlődésünket. Az első albumon üzennünk kellett a québeci black metalosoknak és muszáj volt kifejezni magunkat. Ma is ezt tesszük, csak sokkal agresszívabban. Az első album azt jelenti, mi történt, a mostani pedig azt, hogy mit tehetünk meg.
Apropó, miért is kellett ennyit várni egy újabb csapásra:)?
Jó kérdés… tagkeresés, mellékprojektek, holtidő, hehe.. bárminek hívhatod, de nem múlt el hasztalanul… sokkal jobb lett.
Hol vettétek fel a lemezt? Mennyire ügyeltetek, hogy ne legyen teljesen tiszta a hangzás? Mi volt a cél a lemez hangzásának kialakításakor?
Athros vidéki házában vettük fel, ahol egyébként megírtuk és próbáltunk is. Elég jó felszerelése van, a felesége pedig hangmérnöknek tanult. Hogy érdekelt e a hangzás? Persze, hogy érdekelt!
Szerintünk így kellene szólnia egy black metalnak. A nyers hangzást előre elterveztük. Elegünk lett a mű színtérből. Szerettünk volna természetes hangzást adni a zenénknek, olyat, amit a próbateremben hallottunk… a szívünkből jön!
A black metal mit jelent számotokra? Mikor érintett meg először ez a fekete műfaj az atmoszférájával? Mit szeretsz ebben a stílusban leginkább?
Ez a negatív érzelmek szimfóniája. Színház a zenében! A kezdetek óta velem van, és sosem fogok beleunni ebbe a negatív és fantasztikus kreativitásba!
Felsorolnád, hogy hány bandában vagy érdekelt és hogy melyiktől mi várható a jövőben?
Számíthattok egy epikus és győzedelmes black metalra Forteresse-től és Nordmentől a közeljövőben!

Hell, the name of the band might be familiar to the people who know the underground. Your debut album was released in 2005. What do you think about „Fiers et Victorieux”? Do you think that „many” people love it since it was released?
Hey!
It’s our first one and for us it’s the beginning of a great musical alliance. At our great surprise, people here are profoundly touched by this album, much more than what we could expected at this time….in Québec. Internationally I don’t think we touched a lot of people, but we kept a bit of attention in the underground and that’s what we expected.
Both of you play music in Ur Falc’h too. When did you got this idea to form this band with a slightly different music?
We created Ur Falc’h right after ‘Fiers et Victorieux’, we wanted to travel a more atmospheric path. As far as we are concerned, you can consider Ur Falc’h dead.
In the black metal, where would you put the style of Brume d’Automne? What are the lyrics about?
We play a style that we call ”Metal Noir Québécois”. The music itself is black metal, but the lyrics and themes attached to our folklore, culture, history and our independence.
It’s important that you just got your new album released and it really fascinated me with its wild rawness and the traditional folk parts. What can you tell me about these 8 songs?
We put so much time to work on them. We worked on it for about 5 years so… We feel proud about this release but also fascinated too haha after these times that this is finally out.
This is eight songs of anger, rage and pride!
There are way too many bands nowadays, but I feel that these songs has a certain character and you can really fall in love with them if you listen to them many times. Compared to the previous album what do you think, how did your music evolve, after all 7 years passed.
Our music follows our own evolution. In the first album we needed to throw a message to the black metallers of Québec and by the way express ourselves. Nowadays we keep it in the same way but more aggressive. I think the first one means what happened and this one means what we can do.
By the way, why did we have to wait for so long for the new album?
Good question…searching for a complete lineup, side projects, hunting seasons hehe you can name it all, but it did not take that long for nothing… it’s far better.
Where did you record the album? Did you care about not to have a clear sound? What was the goal when you defined the album’s sound?
We recorded it at Athros’s country house, where we create and rehearse our music. He’s pretty well equipped and he and his wife studied sound engineering so if we care about the sound?…of course we care!
It’s our own vision about how black metal should sound. The rawness of the sound was premeditated. We are just tired of all the artificialism in the scene. We want to give a natural sound to our music, just like when we composed it in rehearsals….it’s played with our heart!
What is black metal for you? When did you get in contact with it? What do you like the most about it?
That’s a symphony of negative emotions. It’s not just some great riffs played by some great musicians. It’s a theatre in music! I get in touch with it since almost the beginning and I’ll never be tired of this negative and awesome creativity!
Could you please name all the bands you are in. What can we expect from them in the future?
Expect epic and victorious Black Metal from Forteresse and Nordmen in a close future!
