Nandu: A Llvme 2007-ben alakult előző zenekarom, a Chaotic Hope passzivitása okán. Egy demó rögzítése után az olasz My Kingdom Music kiadó megjelentette első lemezünket, a „Fogeira de Sueños”-t. Ezután kétszer volt tagcserénk, most pedig nagy örömmel mutatjuk be új lemezünket, a „Yía de Nuesu”-t. Zenénk a doom metal, black metal és régiónk népzenéjének a keveréke, de saját nézőpontunkkal és személyiségünkkel. Legfőbb hatásaink a My Dying Bride, Moonspell, Sentenced, Anathema… és ilyesmi zenekarok.
A folk/pogány doom metal stílus eléggé underground, titeket mennyien ismernek hazátokban illetve azon kívül?
Nandu: Úgy gondolom, jól ismertek vagyunk az európai undergroundban, leginkább olyan országokban, mint az Egyesült Királyság vagy Németország, de nem saját hazánkban. Ez talán azért van így, mert zenénk nem a spanyoloknak szól, vagy csak mert kevés az itteni terjesztésünk és promóciónk. Nem tudom, tény, hogy a spanyolok nem ismerik a Llvmét és a kiadónk is más országokra koncentrál, ahol a zenénk elfogadottabb.
Március végén jött ki második nagylemezetek, a Yía De Nuesu, ami szerintem egy nagyon erős anyag lett. Hogy fogadták a rajongók és a kritikusok a korongot eddig?
Nandu: Örülünk a kritikáknak és a rajongók reakciójának. Jó értékeléseket kaptunk egy csomó magazinban és webzine-on és sokan írtak nekünk, hogy gratuláljanak a „Yía de Nuesu” miatt. Érdekes, hogy nincs spanyol kritika az új lemezről, mindegyik európai.
A Yía…-n az éneken és hegedűn kívül mindent te játszottál fel. Ez már az előző lemeznél is így volt, vagy pedig a tagcsere okozta kényszermegoldás volt?
Nandu: 31 éves vagyok és 10 évesen kezdtem hangszereken játszani, tehát sok hangszeren tudok professzionálisan játszani. Pár hónappal a második album felvételei előtt elhatároztam, hogy magam veszem fel a zenét, mert a többi tag (kivétel az énekes) nem mutatott érdeklődést a zenekar iránt. Én írtam a dalok többségét és képes vagyok a hangszereken játszani, szóval nem okozott gondot a gitárok, basszus, billentyűk, dudák, tekerő, dobok és ütősök feljátszása.
Ha már a tagcsere szóba került: miért váltak ki a régi tagok 2010-ben?
Nandu: A másik gitárosnak és a basszernek voltak más bandáik is és ők ezeket a zenekarokat választották, míg a „Fogeira de Sueños” vokál szekciója olyan volt, hogy azon fejleszteni kellett, szóval úgy döntöttem, másik énekes után nézek.
A második korongon több vendégzenész is közreműködik, kérlek, mutasd be őket!
Nandu: Nagyon örülök, hogy ezekkel a vendégzenészekkel dolgozhattam együtt, főleg Marco Aurelionak. Nagyszerű hegedűs, városunk legjobbja és egyben barátom is. Az ő keltás zeneszemlélete egyértelműen gazdagítja a Llvmet. A vendégénekes Gabe, az egyik legjobb metalénekes a városban, Marisa, régiónk egyik népi énekesnője, Alba, aki egy nagyszerű salamancai zenekarban énekel és Ana Sanabria, aki nagyszerű stílusban énekel és sokat segített nekünk a dalok és fényképek elkészítésében és a „Yía de Nuesu” demóinak felvételében, ő a Llvme nagyon fontos része!
Mint a nyelvészet iránt érdeklődő ember, igen örülök, hogy a helyi, leóni nyelvjárásban íródnak a dalszövegek. Erről a dialektusról mit lehet tudni? Hányan beszélik nagyjából?
Nandu: A leóni egy latinból eredő átvétel, amit őseink vettek át, mikor a rómaiak meghódították Hispániát. A középkorban, amikor a Leóni Királyság önálló államként létezett, ez volt a hivatalos nyelvűnk. Manapság ezt a nyelvet alig 20.000 ember beszél León, Zamora és Salamanca spanyolországi tartományokban és a portugáliai bragançai körzetben, tehát mi a régi hagyományok továbbvitelében szeretnénk közreműködni.
Mivel a leóni nyelvjárást nem sokan értik, kérlek, mondd el röviden, miről szólnak az új dalok?
Nandu: Régiónkról szeretünk írni: múltunkról, kultúránkról, régi hőseinkről, régi királyainkról, legendáinkról, hagyományainkról… Dél-európaiak vagyunk, megvannak a saját témáink, nem kell a vikingekről meg hasonlókról beszélnünk. A „Yía de Nuesu” a leóni IX. Alfonzo királyról szól, aki sokat tett régiónk három tartományáért, Bellido Dolfosról, a leóni Zamora városából való hősről, aki megölte a kasztíliai királyt, hogy felszabadítsa Zamorát a kasztíliai hódítóktól, a Salamanca környéki keltákról, akik a karthágói Hannibál ellen harcoltak…
Mindkét eddigi lemezetek az olasz My Kingdom Music kiadónál jelent meg. Hogy kerültetek kapcsolatba velük?
Nandu: Amikor felvettük első lemezünket, elküldtük néhány európai kiadónak és a My Kingdom Music volt az egyetlen, amelyik jó szerződést ajánlott nekünk, szóval leszerződtünk velük.
A koncertekkel hogy álltok? Csak Ibériában várhatóak koncertek vagy külföldi bulik is lesznek?
Nandu: Jelenleg tagokat keresünk, hogy kiegészítsük a koncerttagságot. A következő pár hónapban ki kellene egészülnie és egy kisebb turnéra mennénk Spanyolországban: Salamanca, León, Madrid…, néhány város, érted. Szeretnénk egy európai turnét is, de munkáink és tanulmányaink nem teszik lehetővé a közeljövőben. Majd meglátjuk!
Mik a jövőbeli terveitek közeli és távoli perspektívában?
Nandu: Rövid távon ki fogjuk egészíteni a koncerttagságot és elkezdünk turnézni, hosszú távon pedig megírunk és felveszünk egy új, másmilyen lemezt, a harmadikat.

Nandu: Köszönjük a Llvme iránti érdeklődésedet! A mi zenekarunk más, van egy saját személyisége és sötét érzelmei, nem olyanok vagyunk, mint mások, a Llvme egy egyedi zenekar. Örülök, hogy hallottad az új lemezünket, de emlékezz, a java még csak ezután jön!

Greetings from Hungary! First of all, please introduce the story, genre and influences of your band!
Nandu: Llvme was established in 2007 due to the inactivity of Chaotic Hope, my previous band. After the recording of a demo, the Italian label My Kingdom Music released our first album “Fogeira de Sueños”. Then, we changed our line-up twice, and now we are very glad to present our second album “Yía de Nuesu”. Our music is a mix of doom metal, black metal and the folk of our region, but with our own point of view and personality. Our main influences are My Dying Bride, Moonspell, Sentenced, Anathema… these kind of bands.
The folk/pagan doom metal is a rather underground genre, how well-known are you in your homeland and abroad?
Nandu: I think that we are well known in the European underground, mainly in countries like United Kingdom or Germany, but not in our country. That happens perhaps because our music is not for Spaniards or maybe because we have a small distribution and promotion here. I don’t know, the fact is that Spanish people don’t know Llvme and our label focuses its forces to other countries where our music is more accepted.
Your second full-length album, Yía De Nuesu was released at the end of March; I think it’s a very strong material. What was the reaction of the fans and the reviewers to it?
Nandu: We are happy about the reviews and the fans’ reactions. We’re having good rates in a lot of magazines and webzines and a lot of people are writing to our mail in order to congratulate us for “Yía de Nuesu”. Curiously, there are not Spanish reviews about our new album, all of them are European.
On Yía… you played everything except for the main vocals and violin. Did you do it in this way also on your previous album or was it a forced solution because of the line-up changes?
Nandu: I’m 31 years old and I started playing instruments when I was 10, so I can play a lot of instruments in a professional way. A few months before the recording of the second album, I decided to record the music by myself because the other members (except the singer) showed no interest in the band. I composed most of the songs and I have the ability to play instruments, so there’s no problem for me to record guitars, basses, keys, bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, drums and percussion.
About the line-up changes: why did the former members leave the band in 2010?
Nandu: The other guitar player and the bass player had other bands and they chose these other bands, and the vocal section of “Fogeira de Sueños” was something that it had to be improved, so I decided to look for another singer.
The second album features more guest musicians, please introduce them!
Nandu: I’m very happy to collaborate with these guest musicians, especially Marco Aurelio. He’s an amazing violin player, the best of our city and a friend of mine. His Celtic point of view of music it’s something that enriches Llvme. The guest singers are Gabe, one of the best metal singers of our city, Marisa, a folk singer of our region, Alba, who sings in a great band of Salamanca, and Ana Sanabria, who sings in a great way and helped us a lot in the creation of the songs, the photographs and the recording of the “Yía de Nuesu” demos, she’s a very important part of Llvme!
As a person interested in linguistics, I’m very glad, that your lyrics are written in the local Leonese dialect. What should we know about this dialect? Around how many people do speak it?
Nandu: The Leonese is the adaptation from Latin that our ancestors did when the Romans conquered Spain. During the medieval ages, when the Leonese Kingdom was established as an independent country, was our official language. Nowadays, it’s a language that is spoken only by 20.000 people in the Spanish provinces of León, Zamora, Salamanca and the Portuguese district of Bragança, so we would like to contribute to keep up the old traditions.
As there aren’t so many people, who understand Leonese, please tell us shortly, what are the new songs about?
Nandu: We like to write about our region: our past, our culture, our ancient heroes, our ancient kings, our legends, our traditions… We are from the South of Europe and we have our own topics, we don’t need to talk about Vikings or similar things. „Yía de Nuesu” talks about the Leonese king Alfonso IX, who did a lot of things for the three provinces of our region, about Bellido Dolfos, a hero of the Leonese city of Zamora who killed the king of Castile in order to free Zamora from the Castilian invaders, about the Celtic people of Salamanca, who fought against Hannibal the Carthagir…
Both of your albums were released via the Italian My Kingdom Music label. How did you get in contact with them?
Nandu: When we recorded our first album we sent it to several European labels and My Kingdom Music was the only one that offered us a good contract, so we signed a deal with it.
What about the concerts? Will be gigs only in Iberia or will there be any shows abroad, too?
Nandu: At the moment, we are looking for members to complete our live line-up. In the next months it would be complete and we’ll start a small tour in Spain: Salamanca, León, Madrid… a few cities, you know. We would like to do a European tour, but our jobs and studies maybe don’t let us to do this in the near future. We’ll see!
What are your future plans in short and in long term?
Nandu: In short terms, complete our live line-up and start touring, and in long terms compose and record a new and different album, the third one.
