2010-ben ismét nagyot robbanthattok, hiszen rögtön egy új lemezzel nyitjátok az évet. Ismét egy nagyszerű, modern metal lemez tárul elénk. Mióta dolgoztatok a dalokon, milyen szempontokat tartottatok szem előtt?

Egy évbe tellett körülbelül, hogy elkészüljenek az új számok. Eltartott egy darabig, mire kitaláltuk a Sons of the system irányát, úgy, hogy egyezzen az elképzeléseinkkel. A fő szempontok a kísérletezgetés és a teljes költői szabadság voltak.
Ez a negyedik albumotok, és úgy érzem most szinte minden szám hibátlan, egyformán a magas színvonalat megtartva. Mit fűznél ehhez hozzá?
Köszönjük még egyszer, hehe… Ez minden, amit mondhatok, barátom! Tudod, a zene elég szubjektív. Ugyanaz az album, különböző embereknek jelenthet mesterművet vagy egy nagy szart is. Úgyhogy örülünk, hogy ennyi embernek tetszik a Sons of the system.
A 2007-es „Passenger” remek folytatásáról beszélhetünk. Mik a legfőbb tényezők, amiben eltérnek a szerzemények?
Sok ember szerint a Sons of the System a Passenger és a Mechanical spin phenomena hangzásainak keveréke. De a dalok sokkal összetettebbek és, talán, kevésbé progresszívek. Azt is mondhatnám, hogy sokkal érettebbek és organikusabbak. Melegebb
A tökéletes „zajmaszlagotoktól” nagyon fel lehet pörögni, és könnyen headbangelni kezd a hallgató. Hogyan gyúrjátok össze a dallamosság, a cyber hangok, és az agytépő betonsúlyosság hozzávalóit?
Nem igazán tudom… Ez szerintem ilyen Mnemic stílus, vagy védjegy. A zenei tapasztalataink és hatások keveréke. A Mnemic nem lenne ugyanaz e tagok nélkül.
De a súlyosság és dallamosság mindig cél! A dallamra zúz a fejed, hehe…
Az Antfarm stúdióban Tue Madsennel milyen plusz ötleteket hoztatok össze?
A dobot az antfarmnál vettük fel és kevertük ki. A többi a saját aalborg-i stúdiónkban készült. Most otthon akartunk lenni. Semmi los angelesi vagy távoli stúdió. Ráadásul ott van az összes cuccunk. Csináltam már pár lemezt néhány bandának, úgyhogy nem volt semmi különleges. Végül Tue-nál készült az összes sample, mondhatni a hab a tortán, hehe… Többé-kevésbé ő a hatodik tagja a bandának. Itt volt az ideje, hogy hozzárakja a zeneiségét, mielőtt kikeverjük a lemezt.
Biztos, hogy van 1-2 olyan banda aki hasonló stílusban mozog, de nektek már eléggé sajátos stílusotok alakult ki. Mennyire neveznéd a Mnemicet úttörőnek és korszakalkotónak?
Ezt nem mondanám… Mikor megalakult a Mnemic, csak különböző hatásokat kevertünk a zenénkbe és talán ez adja a Mnemic hangzásának védjegyét.
Talán mi is hatással voltunk néhány bandára, de hogy a Mnemic úttörő volna, az túlzás.
A zenétekben, és a borítón is érzékelhető a sci-fi hangulat. Mennyire foglalkoztat titeket a jövő és a világűr?
A jövő mindenkié és mindenki saját maga értelmezi azt. Szeretjük a technológiát, nem vagyunk olyan old-school banda. A jövő része vagyunk mi is és a nézeteinket leírjuk a dalszövegekben. Különösen Mircea. Ő a saját közösségi jövőképét írja le, míg én inkább a mai világról írok.
Lehet már tudni, hogy kivel és mikor turnéztok? Mennyire várható hosszabb turnésorozat? Eddigi kedvenc helyszíneid?
Nos, jelenleg még nem mondhatok semmit, mert nem nagyon van leszervezve semmi, de nagyon szeretnénk Kelet-Európában játszani. Nagyon jó az ottani emberekkel beszélgetni és bulizni. Van egy különleges sármja. Szeretjük még az Államokat és Oroszországot is, vagy az egzotikus helyeket. Találkozni akarunk a legőrültebb közönséggel!
Szerintetek mindig tudtok újabb, és izgalmasabb ötletekkel előállni, hogy ne unjanak bele a hallgatók ebbe a stílusba? Mindig ki fogtok tartani ennél a műfajnál?
Nos, az emberek azért emlékeznek egy show-ra, mert valami különlegeset kaptak. Nem feltétlenül a zene, hanem az előadásmód miatt. Próbálunk videó kivetítőket elhelyezni és még gondolkodunk egy pár dolgon. De néha elég nehéz ezeket a dolgokat logisztikailag megoldani. De minden tőlünk telhetőt megteszünk!

You started the year 2010 with an explosive new album. We get a great modern metal album once again. How long did it take to compose the songs and what things did you take into consideration?
Thanx for the compliment man!!
Well it took around 1 year to come up with all the songs. It took a little bit of time find the Sons of the system direction. In a way to combine all our visions.
The main point was to experiment as much as possible and to record something in total artistic freedom.
This is your fourth album, and I think that almost every song is flawless on it with high standard. What would you add to this?
Thank you once again, hehe… That’s all I can say my friend!
You know, music is really subjective. For different people a same album can be a masterpiece or a total shit! So we’re happy that so many people get into Sons of the system…
This is a nice continuation of the album „Passenger” from 2007. In what factors do the albums differ?
Sons of the system sounds to a lot of people like a mix of Passenger and Mecanical spin phenomena. But the songs are more focused and maybe less progressives. More in your face I would say. More mature and more organic. Warmer!
Your „noises” really have great atmosphere and the audience start to headbang easily to it. How do you mix the ingredients of melodies, cyber sounds and brain shredding heaviness together?
I don’t really know.. It’s Mnemic’s style or trademark I guess. It’s just the mixing of all our personal musical touch and influences. Mnemic is not the same without one of his members.
But it was always a target to be heavy and groovy! And the grrove make your head bang, hehe…
What new ideas came up in Antfarm Studios with Tue Madsen?
We’re recorded the drums at the antfarm and mixed the album as well. All the rest was recorded in our own Studio in Aalborg. We wanted to be at home this time. No Los Angeles stuff or long distance studio. Plus we have the gear and all work on pro tools. Plus I produce some bands in my own studio so it was no problem at all. At Tue’s place we added the last touch which is most of the samples. Like the cherry on the cake I would say, hehe… He’s the sixth member of the band more or less! It was time for him to put his musical touch before we proceeded to the mix.
I’m sure there are a lot of bands in the same genre, but you have your unique styles. Do you think Mnemic is pioneer in some way?
I wouldn’t say that… In the begening of Mnemic they mixed different influences and maybe this mixing created the Mnemic trademark.
We have a sound trademark for sure. Maybe we influenced other bands but saying that Mnemic is pioneer is a bit too much..
Sci-fi atmosphere can be felt on your cover and in you music as well. How much are you concerned about future and space?
The future belongs to everybody so everybody can make his own interpretation of it. We love technology in the band, we are not old school that much. We are just part of the future and we share our vision of it in our lyrics and music. Especially Mircea. He discribes his own vision of society in the future. I more describe the world as it is now.
Do you know of any tour dates and bands you’ll be playing with? What are your favorite scenes so far?
Well we cannot say anything right now because a lot of this are beeing dealt. But we really love to play in eastern europe! People are really cool to talk to or party with. It has a special charm. Then we also love the US and Russia. Or exotic destinations. We want to meet the craziest crowds!
Do you think you can always come up with newer and more exciting ideas, so the audience can’t bore to this style? Will you always hold firm to this style?
Well to us people remember of a show because of something special. And not especially the music itself but maybe the way we perform. We are trying to add videos projections and we are working on more ideas. But it’s sometimes really difficult logisticly to bring the required gear to entertain even more the audiances. But we’ll try to make it work as much as we can!
