Szinte biztos nincs olyan metálrajongó Magyarországon aki ne hallott volna a Dalriadáról, de ez sem állíthat meg abban, hogy kitérjek a bemutatásukra mielőtt elmondanám, hogy milyen lenyűgöző volt a 10. évfordulós koncertjük Budapesten. A Dalriada Sopronból származik, és bár ez volt a 10. születésnapjuk, már régebb óta jelen vannak. Ezek alatt az évek alatt kiadtak 7 albumot, 7 videót és még a magyar toplistákra is felkerültek! Egy termetes rajongótábort gyűjtöttek maguk köré, amit láthattunk is múlthét szombaton a Dürer Kertben.
Ha bizonyítékot akartál arra, hogy a Dalriada rajongók támogatják hőseiket, elég volt csak időben megérkezned a helyszínre. Már akkor tömeg volt, és a jegypénztárhoz vezető sor kikígyózott az utcákra is. Pontban fél nyolckor a Fajkusz Banda elkezdte az este népies felvezetést. Már jó ideje hűséges társai a Dalriadának, megérdemelték azt az öt perc rivaldafényt (na jó, kicsit tovább tartott). A tömeg izgatottan fogadta őket, pont ahogy kellett. Nem sokkal utána megkezdődött a Dalriada első része, bár inkább mondjuk felvonásnak. A korai éveikből játszottak dalokat, mint a Vérző ima, Téli ének és a Galamb. Minden egyes dalnál úgy sejlett, mintha a tömeg mindjárt szétrobbanna, mindenhol mosh pit, crowdsurfing és szinte természetfeletti ordítások. Mindenki jól érezte magát a Dalriada elmúlt napjaira emlékezve.
Az este négy részre volt osztva, így végül elérkezett a teljes népdalos erő, és hallhattuk (bár nem a teljes albumot) az Arany album dalait, az Arany János költészetéből összegyűjtött dalokat. Hallhattuk az Ágnes asszonyt is, valamint sok más között a Zách Klára egy rövidített változatát. Az egész koncert alatt (ide értve az utolsó felvonást: igazi magyaros dalok) a bandához csatlakoztak különféle ismert magyar zenészek: Kun Anita (Ideas), Mikus Tamás (Agregator).
A közönség minden résznél szinte megőrült, az egész eseményt körbelengte egy különleges hangulat, és első pillantásra meg lehetett mondani, hogy a legnagyobb rajongók gyűltek itt össze. Voltak idős és fiatal rajongók, és mind osztoztak azon a népdalok iránti szenvedélyen, amit a Dalriada nyújt. A szettek közötti rövidke szünetekkel a Dalriada pont olyan erőteljesen fejezte be az estét, ahogy elkezdte, sőt talán még energetikusabban is. De ez még nem jelentette a végét. A banda nem sokkal később előállt, és csatlakozott a rajongókhoz egy hosszú, éjszakába nyúló, dalolással tarkított rajongókkal lógásba. Nehéz lesz ezt az estét felülmúlni, de abban biztosak lehetünk, hogy a banda mindig törekedni fog arra, hogy a rajongóit boldoggá tegye.

DALRIADA at Dürer Kert in Budapest on January 18, 2014
There’s probably no metal fan in Hungary who hasn’t heard of Dalriada, but that won’t stop me introducing the band before going on to tell you all about their wonderful 10th Anniversary concert in Budapest. Dalriada comes from Sopron in Hungary, and even though this was their 10th birthday, they have actually been around much longer. In all those years, they have released 7 albums and 7 videos, and even made it to Hungarian top lists! They’ve gathered quite a huge fan base, which could have been seen last Saturday at Dürer kert.
If you wanted proof that Dalriada’s fans were there to support their heroes, you could have just arrived at the venue on time. It was already crowded and the line to get tickets spread out even well into the street. At 19:30 sharp, Fajkusz Banda started their folk intro to the evening. They have been Dalriada’s faithful companions for quite a while now, and they deserved their 5 minutes in the spotlight (it was a bit longer though). The crowd welcomed them eagerly, just as they should be. Soon after, the first part or rather scene of Dalriada‘s play started. They played the music from the early years, songs such as Vérző ima, Téli ének and Galamb. With each piece the crowd seemed to explode, there were mosh pits, crowd surfers, almost supernatural screams! And everybody had a great time remembering the old days of Dalriada. The evening was divided into four parts, so eventually the Full Folk Force came on and we could hear (although not the whole album) songs from Arany album, the compilation of songs created upon the poetry of Arany János. Ágnes Asszony could be heard as well as a shortened version of Zách Klára, among others. Throughout the whole show (including the last scene: Tight magyaros songs) the band would occasionally be joined by various well-known Hungarian musicians: Kun Anita (Ideas), Mikus Tamás (Agregator).
The crowd just went crazy with each section, there was a special kind of atmosphere in the air and one could tell that the most hardcore fans were gathered there. There were older fans as well as younger people, all of them sharing the same passion for the folk amazement Dalriada offers. With really short breaks in between sets, Dalriada ended the evening just as energetically as they started, perhaps with even more. That wasn’t the end though. The band soon came out and joined the fans for a very long midnight signing session and hanging out with the fans. It will be hard to top this evening, but nevertheless we can be sure that the band will not cease to make their fans happy.
