Az előző, kitűnőre sikeredett, 2009-es „The Light-Devouring Darkness” album után a finn ARCHGOAT triója egy 5 számos mini albummal jelentkezett. A bevált recepten ezúttal sem változtattak, sötét, barbári, dalokat hallunk a szokásos, a pokol mélyéből kéngőzökkel felbugyogó vokálokkal. Egy rövid, némi harang-effektből, sötét morajlásból és Sátáni szavalásból álló intro után a „Blessed Vulva” egy lassabb, súlyosabb darab, egyszerű, de hatásos alapriffel. Kicsit olyan, mintha az intro folytatása lenne, és megalapozná a későbbi vad tivornyázást. A nótában még némi színező billentyűtémát is hallhatunk, majd 3 és fél perc után véget ér. A „Penerator of the Second Temple” már a jól ismert gyors, kalapáló ARCHGOAT stílusban fogant, és ebben a dalban is hallhatunk az egy-két lassabb résznél némi aláfestő (de sötét!) billentyűtémákat. Egy hamisítatlan, klasszikus ARCHGOAT nóta ez durva gitárokkal, kosszal, tűzzel és súlyos dobokkal. A „Goddess of the Abyss of Graves” a mélységi istennő kéjes nyögéseivel indít, amit aztán egy kecske hangja szakít meg, és kezdetét veszi a féktelen pusztítás ismét. A dalban még rövidebb gitárszólók is hallhatók, amik a gyors tempót kicsit fékezni igyekeznek. Az ötödikként felcsendülő „Day of Clouds” ismét egy hagyományosabb, durva dal, aminek legfőbb vonzereje számomra a féktelen erő, és a súlyos lassabb téma, ami némi (nem kell hozzátennem, sötét) Death Metalos beütést is magán visel. A 16 perces mini albumot a „Passage to Millennial Darkness” zára, ami alig két és fél percben tiporja sárba mind azt, ami szent és tiszta.
A borítót ismét Chris Moyen munkája ékesíti, ám nem a szokásos „kecske+fordított kereszt”-témát vonultatja fel, bár a stílusa persze továbbra is egyből felismerhető. Perverz, de látványos az artwork.
Összesítésként azt tudom mondani, hogy, noha az anyag nem szolgál nagy meglepetésekkel (annak, aki legalább is ismeri a zenekart), mégis kitűnően sikerült. A zenekar sokadjára bizonyította, hogy a Black Metal legmegbízhatóbb védelmezői közé tartoznak.

ENGLISH VERSION:
After the previous, excellent, 2009 „The Light-Devouring Darkness”, the Finnish trio of ARCHGOAT have returned with a five-song mini album. They have not changed the once proven recipe, that is we can hear dark, barbaric songs with sulphurous vocals coming from the very depths of hell. After a short intro consisting of some bells and dark murmuring and Satanic chanting, „Blessed Vulva” is a slower, heavier piece with a simple but effective riff. It sounds to me as the continuation of the intro, preparing the ground for the later savage mayhem. We can even hear some colouring synth themes, and the song is over after three and a half minutes. „Penetrator of he Second Temple” has been composed in the well-written fast and hammering ARCHGOAT style, and in this one we can also hear some (dark) background synths. It is an all-the-way, classic ARCHGOAT track with raw guitars, filth, fire and heavy drums. „Goddess of the Abyss of Graves” starts with the moaning sounds of the abyssic goddess interrupted by the voice of a goat to re-start the boundless destrcution. There are even some guitar solos in the song that are to slow the fast tempo a bit. The fifth number, „Day of Clouds”, is again a more traditional, rawer one, the charm of which to me is the boundless power and the slow heavy theme which gives a bit of (I guess it is not necessary to add, dark) Death Metal edge to it. The 16-minute long mini is closed with „Passage to Millennial Darkness”, a song that treads everything that is holy and pure.
The cover is again the work of Chris Moyen but it doe snot depict the usual „goat and inverted corss”-theme, although the style of course is recognizable at once. The artwork is perverse but spectacular.
As a summary I can say that even if the material does not bring too may surprises (at least for those who know the band), it turned out excellent. The band has proven once again that they are among the strongest defenders of Black Metal.
