A Different View From The Same Side nevet kapta.

Amúgy jó pillanatok még akadnak, mint pl.: a „New Life”-ban lévő kiváló zongorás betét, vagy a „The Lord Of Time” tekerős gitárszólója, de idesorolhatnám a kétrészes címadó dal első felét is, ami szinte tíz percig teljesen instrumentális.

ENGLISH VERSION:

We should wait more than ten years for the first full-length album of the Aura, Italy. I do not know how familiar their name is for you but it is a fact that they did not hurry. They made four demos until this album; „A Different View From The Same Side” came out. Of course, you know, good work needs time, but this is not really the fact in this case. The label lists this band to the guideline of Dream Theatre and Queensryche, which is in accordance with the heard material. The first flaw of the album is the not-so-strong sound. Somehow it sounds too flat, mainly the drums. I do not say it is unlistenable, but there would have been many things to improve it. The progressive character of the tracks can be sensed in every moment. They packed many-many themes and protrusions in the seven tracks.

The playing time of 67 minutes is not a surprise in this genre, but here it can not be considered as favourable in any ways, particularly when except 1-2 catchy ideas there are not any memorable themes in the album. I suppose, the largest problem is the vocal, which is not bad but it is not characteristic and it simply has not any melodies, which can be recalled later. Maybe one of the best songs, „Pray” is an exception. Besides, there are good moments, such as the perfect piano part in the „New Life” or the fast guitar solo in „The Lord of Time”, but I can mention here the first part of the two-part, title song, which is nearly fully instrumental until ten minutes.

There can not be any bad words for the instrumental knowledge of the musicians; everybody does his work as it is written in that certain book. It is sure that I can imagine more solos and memorable riffs together with more, a bit more difficult drum themes, as well. Sometimes Francesco Di Verniere (keyboards) plays some solos, too, when the given song demands it.

To sum up, a quite listenable and demanding album was made in the workshop of Aura, which surely gives some pleasant minutes for the fans of the style. However, I do not feel that certain extra, which can be found in the albums of the aforementioned two bands, therefore, for me this is not more than a correct artisan work.
