The Last Right második fele).

ENGLISH VERSION:

The so-called depressive Black Metal, as a subgenre of Black Metal, started out in the mid/late ’90s, and most people originate it from BURZUM while that was never the intention of Vikernes anyway. Nevertheless, with the sound of „Filosofem” he started something for sure of which even today there are followers. Like this three-piece Chinese (!) act we have here. Apart from their origin, however, we have run out of the list of peculiarities. What we get on this 35 minute-long album (which is their second full-length), have been heard not once, and not twice so far…

But, if their aim was to take part in an oversaturated genre, it’s their business. The thing is that maybe they get now some of my anger regarding the genre since a lot of bands under the cover of BM try to take part in something which they have nothing to do with. And, actually, it was the genre from which the alter/post BM started out, and I do not even want to speak about that… Anyway, End Leaving is not that bad, I have heard much worse attempts. But better too. Maybe better than average yet raspy guitar sound, sad melodies, colouring carpet of undistorted guitars, extreme, screaming vocals. Fortunately, here and there they have captured the right atmosphere which saves the material to some extent (like the second half of The Last Right). However, the sound of the drums is rather impotent, artificial, so it’s rather a negative point in my book.

One can have mixed feelings concerning this album, it’s not bad actually but I don’t think that today it’d be enough. I’m interested in what they’ll be playing in, let’s say, five years…
