Ha az ember jobban utánagondol, bizony kiderül: 13 évet kellett várni, míg a nagyszerű második nagylemez 2. része elkészült. Persze közben azért ne feledkezzünk meg arról a tényről sem, hogy a BLUT AUS NORD 4 teljes nagylemezt, valamint 3 EP/split kiadvánnyal is előállt időközben, s néminemű stílusváltás is bekövetkezett, a rideg, poszt-indusztriális elemek beszivárgásával. Ez több embert talán zavart is, akik nem igazán tudtak ezzel mit kezdeni, viszont például a „The Work Which Transforms God” album nagyszerűségét és egyéniségét senki sem vonhatja kétségbe, úgy vélem.
A „Memoria Vetusta…II” tehát afféle visszatérés a korábbi világhoz, amikor még atmoszférikus, gyors és hangulatos, erőteljes Black Metal gyökerekkel rendelkező muzsikát játszottak Vindsvalék. Örömmel jelenthetem viszont, hogy itt nem érzem az izzadságszagú, erőltetett visszatérést a gyökerekhez. Teljesen természetesen görögnek elő a dalaik. Sikerült a régi hangulatot megfogniuk a hosszú, nagyszerű dallamokat, riffeket, témákat felvonultató lemezzel. Bizonyos mértékig azért (pl. „The Cosmic Echoes of Non-Matter”) érezhető az újabb, némiképp disszonáns dallamokkal operáló világuk is, de ez nem zavaró. Monumentális, éteri, jellegzetesen BLUT AUS NORD-os minden, bár annyira nem hat már nyilván a meglepetés erejével, mint a régebbi testvér. Szintén kisebb negatívumként említhetem, a nem túl fantáziadús gépi dobokat is, talán ezen lehetett változtatni valamit. Az utolsó előtti „The Formless Sphere (Beyond the Reason)” viszont külön kiemelném nagyszerű, hatalmas dallamai, billentyűtémái miatt. Ez kétségkívül a lemez csúcspontja.
Mindent összevetve, egy korrekt anyaggal van azért dolgunk, de számomra továbbra is a „Work..” album az, ami igazán lázba tud hozni.

ENGLISH VERSION:
If you think about it: we had to wait 13 years to have the 2nd part of the excellent second full-length out. Of course, one shouldn’t forget the fact that there were 4 full-lengths and 3 EP/split release in the meantime, and some sort of change in their style also happened, with the infiltration of cold, post-industrial elements. That was a bit disturbing to some people who cannot do anything with it, however, the excellence and uniqueness of „The Work Which transforms God”, for instance, cannot be questioned by anyone I believe.
So, „Memoria Vetusta…II” is a sort of returning to their earlier world when Vindsval and Co. were playing atmospheric, fast music with strong Black Metal roots. However, I can announce with pleasure that here we cannot feel a sweaty and forced „return to the roots” process. The tracks roll forth in a natural way. They’ve managed to capture the old mood with a record operating with great melodies, riffs and themes. To some extent, for instance, in „The Cosmic Echoes of Non-Matter”, the newer world with more dissonant themes can also be felt but it’s not disturbing. Monumental, ethereal, typically BLUT AUS NORDish is everything but the whole does not have that surprising effect of course the album’s elder brother did back then, and, due to the solos, the album is a bit more Metal. The programmed drums can also be mentioned as a kind of negative thing, they should have change on that. Nevertheless, I’d mention the next to last „The Formless Sphere (Beyond the Reason)” due to its excellent, great melodies and synth themes. It’s surely the highlight of the material.
All in all, what we got is an alright album, but, to me, it’s still „The Work…” that really lights my fire.
