A Gen Tasker (ének, hörgés), Jamie Tomphson (gitár), Kieran Brain (dob), Rob Reeves (gitár), Scott Warner (basszusgitár) felállás maga mögött hagyott négy felvételt (2001 „One Inch God”, 2002 „Year Of The Slug” split CD, 2003 „Ray Zero”, és az eredetileg 2004-es, de idén újra kiadott „For Us It Ends When We Drawn” EP), majd eltűnt a semmibe.

A Moments Of Thruth karcos kezdése, punkos üteme, a dob nyers puffogása és a dallamos death metal jegyei ugyanúgy megtalálhatóak a dalban.

A Going The Vancouver is erősen indít, de valahogy gyenge a szám szinte végig. A kopogó lábdob néha kissé idegesítő, a sablon riffeket ugyan jól színezik pár helyen, a többi téma mégis olyan esetlen, az énekről ne is beszéljünk.

A súlyos énekbetéteknél a Temple Of Absurd ugrott be, az unalmas, lerágott csontú riffekre azonban itt sincs magyarázat.

ENGLISH VERSION:

The English band existed between 1999 and 2004. They had some drummer changes during this short period but line-up did not change except these. The material come out by Rising Records has some room for improvement, but there are interesting things, good parts and tight rhythms on it. The music called simply heavy metal is more than this definition, and it has more spontaneous elements apart from the fact that there are so many riffs in the songs being characteristic to the genre. The line-up Gen Tasker (vocals, growls), Jamie Thompson (guitar), Kieran Brain (drums), Rob Reeves (guitar), Scott Warner (bass) outstripped four records (2001 „One Inch God”, 2002 „Year Of The Slug” split CD, 2003 „Ray Zero” and „For Us It Ends When We Drawn” EP originally from 2004, but it came out this year, as well), and they disappeared, or rather into the depths of collections and into the memories of some concerts.

The harsh beginning of Moments of Truth, punk-like beats, the coarse whanging of the drums and the marks of melodic death metal are all present in the song. The voice of the singer, Gen can be rather heavy when she switches to growls, but not all of the melodic parts really prevail. Music becomes monotonous even about the end of the second minute; it loses its power, its dynamics; it settles for a moment. Afterwards the starting verse appears again, but in the end it also becomes a bit boring, mainly due toe fact that it is fully instrumental.

Going the Vancouver starts also strong, but the track somehow is weak nearly all over. Melodic parts do not sound shining, and the whole sound is very much in the background. The rapping bass drum is sometimes a bit tiresome. They colour the pattern riffs sometimes good, but the other themes are so clumsy, not to speak of the vocals. If it had been better worked out, it would have become a stronger song, but in this way it is…

The third track in the album is Game Over, which is another ingenious one. Somewhere the guitars can be heard better, and the stronger parts are catchier. It is a more characteristic track. The melodic vocals are tending to a right path and most of the instrumental themes are well-composed. The only thing missing from this track is the more time… It evokes perfectly a feeling that the ramping metal bands with female vocals did in the middle of the ’90s. There are raw riffs, a concrete stable basis, a bit dirty sound, melodic and growling vocals. They work with a well-presented conception, but there are faults in it.

Excuses and Exits is a consumable and not consumable track in one. It is weak as there are very basic themes, which were played by millions on different records, but it has such an old-school feeling, which shocks you. Maybe if some very plain themes (I do not dare to name them as ideas) had not come to the carpet, the song would have been even good.

Queue to Nowhere is however, a classic, fast song, where broadly everything fits, even the more melodic vocal, which produces alloying with the music a bit punk-like feeling… Hearing the heavy vocal fills Temple of Absurd came into my mind, but there is also nothing to explain the boring gnawed bone riffs.

The last track, Axe Fight evokes odd feelings from me, similarly to the whole album. It is sure that it is very much a mood music, which is showed by this track, as well. Sometimes I enjoy the orgy of rhythms however; sometimes I can hit the ceiling, as the themes, the vocals and the whole album are so clumsy… I only feel if they spent more time for working out the tracks they would be one of the most well-known artists of the genre. Fans can listen to it, and they should decide.
