A 2007-ben alakult Dharma zenekarnak sokak örömére megjelent Heavenly Hell címmel az új lemeze. A kezdeteknél már sikerült hosszabb koncertsorozatot véghez vinni a Road zenekarral és szerepeltek az államokbeli 272 Records válogatásalbumán is.
Sokat nem cécóztak és kiválasztottak a számukra megfelelő stúdiót, a Bakery-t és felvették a nagylemezt, amelyet 23 országban terjeszt a Poison Tree Records. Nem is olyan rég, pedig a Gothica Farsangon olyan zenekarok előtt léphettek fel, mint a Deathstars és a Sonic Syndicate.
Ami elsőként lejött a zene hallgatása közben, hogy van egyfajta magával ragadó melankóliája ami, már önmagában tetszik. Leginkább dark stílushoz tudnám hasonlítani, de különböző ezoterikus hangokat, modernebb és súlyosabb gitárriffeket is hallhatunk. Pluszként a samplerek is érdekesebbé és változatosabbá teszik a Dharmat.
Nicia vokáljait nem érzem tökéletesnek, de nem nevezném rossznak sem. Igazából megvan az a féle simogató érzés, ami kell egy ilyen zenéhez, a dallamok pedig teljesen élvezhetők kedves harmóniáival. Helyenként azonban nem teljesen tiszták és talán néha egy kicsit magasabb hangtartományban is el tudnám képzelni a hangokat. Ettől függetlenül bőven élvezhető Nicia éneke.
A hetedik dal kezdése a Sepultura – Rattamahatta-ját jutatta eszembe. Mintha ellopták volna a vázát, és rápakoltak volna egy kis darkos ízt.
A Behind The Mask pedig egyik kedvencem lett, fogós refrénjei miatt akár egy klipet is megérdemelne, amivel népszerűbbekké válhatnának.
A hangzás nekem egy kissé poros: a gitárok jók, viszont a dobütéseket nem találtam elég ütősnek. A 11 dal végig színvonalas teljesítmény, nem fullad unalomba. Sikerült nekik egy olyan egységes albumot elkészíteni, amivel külföldön is szerencsét lehet próbálni. Mindenesetre én egy új reménységnek nevezném őket. Egy kicsit hallgatni és szokni kell a zenét, de ha rákattansz, megragad és magához láncol.

ENGLISH VERSION:
For the joy of many, the new album of Dharma – formed in 2007 – has been released entitled Heavenly Hell. They already accomplished a longer tour with the band Road and one of their tracks made it onto the sampler of the American record label 272 Records.
They didn’t waste any time and chose the most appropriate studio – Bakery – to record their full-length, which is distributed in 23 countries by Poison Tree Records. Additionally, not so long ago, at Gothica Farsang, they shared the stage with bands such as Deathstars or Sonic Syndicate.
The first thing I realised while listening to the disc is that it has a certain melancholic aura, which draws the listener in, and which I find quite to my liking. I could best compare it to the dark genre, but we can hear different esoteric voices as well as modern and heavy guitar riffs. Samplers also make Dharma more interesting and diverse.
I don’t feel that the vocals of Nicia are perfect, but neither are they bad. We get that caressing feeling this music needs and her voice makes the musical melodies even more enjoyable. However, occasionally her tunes are not clean and maybe I can imagine some of her tones higher. Apart from this, her singing is perfectly enjoyable.
The beginning of the seventh song reminds of Ratamahatta from Sepultura. Like they have stolen the framework of the song and added a little dark flavour.
Behind the Mask became one of my favourites, due to its catchy refrains, it would even deserve a music video, making the band more popular.
The sound is a bit dusty for me: the guitars are fine, but the strokes of the drum are not strong enough. The 11 songs are quality work all the way long, they never end up in boredom. They managed to create a unified album, with which they could even try to open towards other countries.
Anyway, I would call them a new hope. You have to get used to their music for a while, but if you get it, it will chain you to itself.
