A világ zenei színtere nem csak a metálról szól. Az ambient zene is sok gyöngyszemmel büszkélkedhet. Remek betétdal filmeknek, játékoknak… vagy egyszerűen csak zenei élménynek. Nagy kérdés volt, hogy ugyanez igaz-e a Flames Of Genesis banda Interstellar Transmigration Part I. : A Bridge To Further Realms címmel megjelenő debüt albumára is (és igen, ez volt a leghosszabb albumcím amiről valaha kritikát írtam 🙂 ).
Kapcsold be az öveket. Utazz az Univerzumon át, a legsötétebb helyeken, messzi csillagok felé. Ezek a mondatok akár a CD promójaként is szolgálhatnának, hiszen ez a zene az Univerzum legtávolabbi szegleteibe repíti hallgatóját. Hét utazás, hét kaland, hét dal. A számok mindegyike színtiszta instrumentális darab, a minimalizmus jegyében íródva. Ne keress bennük grandiózus hangszerelést nagyzenekarokkal, milliónyi effektet stb. (metálzenei elemekre szintén nehezen fogsz bukkanni). Nem, a Flames Of Genesis eszköztárából nem hiányoznak ezek, mégis remek zenét alkottak. A sötét, hangulatos dalokat mindenféle komplex és erőteljes hangszerelés nélkül prezentálják (néhol csupán az Univerzum távoli robaját hallod), mindezt viszont magas instrumentális színvonalon élvezhetjük.
Az atmoszféra pedig a dallamok elsöprően erős eleme. Sötétség, magány, félelem – az album hallgatása közben ezek az érzések futottak át rajtam. Másfelől viszont ott volt az elégedettség és boldogság is. Lehet, hogy különösen hat, de erősen érzelemdús zene – a skála mindkét oldaláról szolgál hangulattal. Valószínűleg az Univerzumon túl (remélem, hamarosan én is megtapasztalhatom az érzést) is ugyanezeket éled át. Amit látsz (vagy, a Flames Of Genesis esetében, hallasz) egyszerre gyönyörű, sötét és hideg. Könnyen el tudom képzelni betétdalokként is őket, új és látványosabb dimenziókba emelve a művet. De akárhogy is, a zene remek. Dark ambient az érzelmek széles palettájával, egy felejthetetlen utazás. Őszintén várom a folytatást.
World music scene is not only about metal. Ambient music also has many gems to show off. Really suitable soundtracks for movies, games… Or simply as a true musical experience for the listener in some cases. The question was if it would also be the case for the debut album Interstellar Transmigration Part I. : A Bridge To Further Realms from Flames Of Genesis (yes, it is the longest album title that I have ever reviewed 🙂 ).
Fasten your seat belts. Journey across the whole Universe, to the darkest places and the most distant stars. These sentences could be a promo for this CD, whose music can really take us to the furthest depths of the Universe. Seven journeys, seven adventures, seven songs. All of the tunes are pure instrumental pieces, created in the spirit of minimalization. Don′t go looking for a big pre-production, using a whole orchestra, millions of effects etc. (metal music elements will also be hard to find). No, Flames Of Genesis doesn′t need this at all to create great music. They can create dark atmospheric songs without the hard and complicated arrangements (sometimes you can only hear far-distant sounds of the Universe) but still on a high instrumental level.
And that atmosphere is also the immensely strong element of the tunes. Darkness, loneliness, fear. These are the emotions that flowed through my head while listening to the album. On the other hand, I was also feeling strong satisfaction and happiness. Maybe strange, but this music is full of emotions- from both sides of the front. Probably though, if you are outside of the Universe (hope that I will gain this experience sometime in the future), you feel the same things. What you see (in case of Flames Of Genesis, hear) is really beautiful, but still dark and cold.
I can also imagine this music as a movie’s soundtrack. And that is when this piece of art will gain its new and greater dimensions. But anyway, the music is still great. Dark ambient with a wide pallet of the emotions, unforgettable journey through the Universe. Looking forward to the sequels.
