Hmm, lehet, hogy a hiba bennem van, de én eddig nem sokat hallottam „Németország egyik legrespektáltabb Black Metal zenekaráról” (az információs lap írja). Rendben, ez már az ötödik nagylemezük, tehát szerencsére nem egy kezdő brigáddal van dolgunk. Ez a lemez egyébiránt még 2010-ben jelent meg először a Det Germanske Folket kiadónál, ami néhány száz példány után megszűnt létezni, így a Heidens Hart érdemesnek találta újra megfuttatni az anyagot. Annyit azonban helyesbítenem kell, hogy ez nem Black Metal, hanem inkább blackes elemekkel tarkított pogány Metal. A szövegek – állítólag – nosztalgiából táplálkoznak, néhol filozofikusak, ezt sajnos német nyelvtudás hiányában nem tudom kommentálni. Így csak szigorúan a zenéről tudok értékítéletet mondani.
Vágyakozó dallamokkal átszőtt, lendületes pogány muzsikát hallhatunk egész jó ötletetekkel. Nem olyan nyers, mint mondjuk a korai HADES, hanem inkább kifinomultabb megoldásokkal operálnak. Elég változatos dalokat sikerült kreálniuk, amik még hangulatosak is, ezt a hangzás is megtámogatja (bár a gyors részeknél a dob, vagy dobgép, elég furán szól, de ebből kevés van…). A Metalos él pedig még inkább energiával telíti a lemezt. Érdekes, hogy a Waldeinsamkeit daluk alaptémája mennyire hasonlít a BURZUM Filosofem lemezes Erblicket… dalára, erre kissé felkaptam a fejem. De akad itt nyugodtabb akusztikus, instrumentális darab is, bár ez csak afféle átkötés. Negatív pont viszont az extrém ének, megbocsáthatatlanul átlagos és erőtlen károgás. A néhol előforduló dallamos vokál szerintem jobb, lehet inkább ezzel kellene a jövőben még karakteresebb szerzeményeket írniuk.
Bevallom, az első pár hallgatás alkalmával nagyon nem tetszett, amit kaptam, viszont idővel határozottan kezdi megmutatni erényeit a 60 perces munka. Egy jó album ez, ami azért nem mestermű, de elismerésre méltó.

Hmm, maybe there’s something wrong with me but I haven’t heard too much about „one of the most respected Black Metal bands of Germany” (says the info-sheet) so far. Okay, this is already their fifth full-length so at least we are not dealing a beginner bunch of guys here, fortunately. The record, by the way, got first released in 2010 on Det Germanske Folket label, but after a few hundred copies they ceased to exist, so Heidens Hart found the material to be worthy enough to run another round. I have to correct something, however, that this is not Black Metal but Pagan Metal with some blackish elements. The lyrics are – said to be – feeding from nostalgia, at times philosophical, I cannot comment on this due to the lack of German language skills.
Thus I can only evaluate the music. It’s dynamic Pagan music woven with longing melodies with quite good ideas. It’s not as harsh as early HADES, for example, but rather finer stuff. Their tracks are fairly varied which are even moody, and this is also supported by the sound (though the drum, or drummachine, in the faster themes sound rather strange, fortunately there is little of this…). And the Metallic edge gives another dose of power to the album. It was interesting to notice that the basic theme of their track titled Waldeinsamkeit is so similar to that of BURZUM’s Erblicket… on Filosofem. But we can also hear a calm, instrumental acoustic piece as a sort of interlude. However, a negative point is the raw vocals, these are unforgivably average and weak croaking. The occasional melodic vocals are better maybe they should focus on this in the future in order to come up with even more characteristic tunes.
I have to admit that during the first few listens I did not like the album but later the 61-minute long material definitely starts to show its values. A good album, still not a masterpiece but it should be acknowledged.
