A holland származású zenekar – Bart (gitár), Ivo (dob), Jeroen (gitár) és Marloes (ének, basszusgitár)- még 1996-ban alakult. Azóta jó pár kiadványon- „1997” promo 1997, „Most Evil” demo 1998, „Bird Of Prey” EP 1999, „2002” promo, és „Guidelines For Genocide” CD 2002, „New World Order” EP 2005, „Tribute To Totalitarianism” CD 2008 – és koncerten túl vannak. A zenekar a thrash/death metal mezsgyéjén alkot, a női énekes pedig érdekesnek tűnhet elsőre. Hallgassunk bele.
A címadó Point Of No Return súlyos zúzdával nyit egyből, a tipikus alapokra technikás részek illeszkednek, a ritmushangszerek sodró lendülete fölé pedig karcos, hörgős éneket tol Marloes. Jól van felépítve a szerkezet, a dinamika mindvégig megvan, a témák sem válnak üressé vagy túl sablonossá. A No Place Like Home már inkább a trash metal hangjegyeire alapoz, legalábbis minden ezt tükrözi. A metalorientált zene itt már-már progresszív elemekkel is dicsekedhet, a finom, de súlyos, kemény témák fölé nagyon határozott ének feszül, ami egyszerűen még jobban élvezhetővé és pusztítóbbá teszi a riffarmadát. Az End Of Time sem könnyebb az előző nótáknál, bár a tempó itt valamivel visszafogottabb, ez azonban nem gond. Ez is egy energiától lüktető, karakteres szám, valahol az old-school thrash/death metal mezején alkotva. A lassabb betétek között az előbb tapasztalt progresszív metal elemek szintén felbukkannak, és ez a zenei ötvözés teszi egyedivé. Minden hangszeres a maximumot nyújtja most is. Az utolsó nóta az Angel Of Demise címet viseli. Menetelős alappal, kitartott, nyújtott gitárhangokkal indít, az ének szinte démoni mivolta pedig csak még jobban előhozza a sötét hangulatot. Technikás játékot hallhatunk mindvégig, jól kigondolt részeket, súlyos, morbid ritmusokat, ahogyan energiáktól duzzadva mindent elpusztító gyilkos dühvel végigront mindenen. A stílus fanatikusainak mindenképp ajánlom, főképp, ha szeretik a progresszív thrash/death metal bandákat.

This Dutch band – Bart (guitar), Ivo (drums), Jeroen (guitar) és Marloes (vocals, bass) – was formed back in 1996. They have quite a lot of releases – „1997” promo 1997, „Most Evil” demo 1998, „Bird Of Prey” EP 1999, „2002” promo, and „Guidelines For Genocide” CD 2002, „New World Order” EP 2005, „Tribute To Totalitarianism” CD 2008- and gigs behind their back. They’re playing on the field of thrash/death metal, and the female vocals may strange at first. Take a listen to it.
The title track opens with heavy crushing, the technical parts fit the typical base well, and Marco brings raspy, growling vocals to the dynamic drifting of rhythm instruments. The structure is well-built, it has dynamics all the way, and the themes do not either turn to too empty or stereotyped. No Place Like Home is rather built on thrash metal, at least it’s reflected by the whole track. The metal-oriented music here and there shows signs of progressive elements, but the determined vocals coming on the heavy, hard themes make the armada of riffs even more enjoyable and destructive. End Of Time isn”t any lighter either than the previous tracks though the pace is a bit slower but it’s no problem. It’s also an energetic, unique track composed in the vein of oldschool thrash and death metal. Here, as previously, progressive parts come up again among the themes and this mixture makes the whole unique. Every instrument plays its best. The last song is titled Angel Of Demise. It opens with a marching theme, and with prolonged guitar sounds, and the demonic nature of the vocals brings forth even more the dark mood. The playing is technical, with well thought-out parts, heavy, morbid rhythms, as the song crushes everything with its killing rage. Recommended for the fans, especially for those into progressive thrash/death metal.
