ENGLISH VERSION:

I have to say that even though MAGNUS is considered as a legendary name in Underground circles and for old Metal fans, it has been unknown to me, I only heard their name here and there, even mentioned by some Black Metal bands often. The band was formed in 1987, and Acceptance of Death is their fourth full-length material, so their professionalism should not be a surprising fact to anyone.

What we get here on this 38 minute-long, 13-tracker album is kicking, savage Thrash/Death Metal mixture which is way closer to Death Metal. The sound production of course suits today’s standards, it’s clear, powerful, but, fortunately, isn’t too modern for its own sake., I have no problem with that at all. What is truly positive concerning hem is the aggression, the attacking nature, and general dark aura (as with most Polish bands, the intense anti-religious nature is also present in the lyrics), that embraces most tracks. The barbaric (here and there it reminds me of VADER) vocals (by Rob Bandit) are also alright, suiting the music, and the occasional dissonant guitar themes make the record more interesting too. We get to hear cool, fast attacks with savage drumming and insane solos. And I’d also say some words about negative things to me, namely the more core-like, goroovy themes 8for example, in Private Religion) of which there are few, fortunately, but they could have been left out these, as their „more traditional” stuff could be absolutely cool to Metal fans.

After the album, I also checked the previous albums, and even if Acceptance of Death does not reach the standard of those stuffs, it’s still a strong and okay material.
