A csapat legrégebbi felvétele, az akusztikus betéttel, résszel díszített The Road To The Gravegarden a lemezre is felkerült (amúgy szerepelt a Burn demón és a The Cult Of Disease Ep-n), a Chants Of The Nameless akár kiadatlan Candlemass dalnak is elmenne, a szomorú hangulat, a fájdalom, a szívbemarkoló melódiák ugyanúgy a lemez jellemzői, mint a fentebb említett királyok anyagainak esetében.

Nem érdemes szaporítanom tovább a szót, az utóbbi idők egyik legnagyobb meglepetését okozták számomra a chileiek, a Destroyers Of The Faith képében egy hibátlan lemezt alkották. Hasonlóságok, hatások ide vagy oda, a maximális pontszámnál kevesebbet pofátlanság lenne adni erre a zseniális műre.

ENGLISH VERSION:

My colleague Stillborn wrote in his review about Helllight’s And Then, The Light of Consciousness Became Hell that „the band, that has three L in his name, comes from a country, where this kind of death/doom music isn’t the most typical. Considering Brazil such bands and their followers come into mind, such as SARCÓFAGO, KRISIUN, SEPULTURA, HEADHUNTER DC, to name some bigger names”. I totally agree with the statement of my friend, but I would it add that doom music isn’t the most typical genre either for Brazil, or for South America as a whole.

Procession’s debut, that came out last year (before they had two demos and an Ep) is traditional doom metal. The logo of the band, the cover of the album are misleading, based on them one can associate with a brutal death metal band. After the intro Hyperion (it’s pity that it too short because the theme is very great) comes the epic, monumental title track, that reflects the faves and influences of the band: Solitude Aeturnus, Candlemass, Count Raven – the aces of the genre. Those familiar with this genre know well what they can get from the record, the influences speak for themselves. Vocalis/guitarist Felipe Plaza Kutzbach is truly excellent in both positions. One one hand, he pampers us with fantastic solos and riffs, and on the other, his emotional voice fits the music well. Claudio Botarro Neira’s bass parts did not disappear in the mix; thanks to the strong, excellent sound his parts are audible, we can hear the play of a talented bassplayer on the record. Similarly to his bandmates, drummer Francisco Aguirre does a good job as well – I can’t find any faults. The oldest track of the band The Road To The Gravegarden (with its acoustic parts) made its way on the record too (it was both on the Burn demo and on the The Cult Of Disease Ep), Chants Of The Nameless is like an unreleased Candlemass tune, the sad mood, the pain, the heart-rending melodies are the characteristics of the album, like on the works of the aforementioned kings.

The Chilean dudes are one of the biggest surprise of recent times for me, they created a flawess record. A masterpiece in its genre.
