A Sabaton történetét talán mindenki ismeri.

ENGLISH VERSION:
Everyone may know the story of Sabaton. In nutshell I should sum up that after the early years of struggles and a good choice of topic, after 14 years on stage they became one of the leading bands of epic power metal in Sweden and worldwide. The reasons are the historical and war-centred lyrics, the energetic and unique music and not at last the powerful and intense live productions. So we shouldn’t be surprised that in September, 2013, Nuclear Blast released their second live material of the last few years.
For me, their latest album, Carolus Rex is their best release up to date. And although the almost complete line-up change right after the release date make many people worry about the oncoming things, Sabaton’s war-machine continued its victorious campaign with a new line-up! The album release tour of Carolus Rex, entitled Swedish Empire Tour and its physical manifestation, Swedish Empire Live are excellent proofs for this!
This grandiose material was released in a 3 DVD+1 CD format, but also sold in many sort of extra versions. The three DVDs contain live recordings of different gigs of that tour and also some other shows, plus video clips and short movies, while the CD contains the audio material of 16 songs played at Woodstock Festival, Poland (the first part of DVD 1 is the same show with also video material and the bonus track, Panzer Batallion).
Basically the subject of my review is the CD I mentioned before: the numerous and very enthusiastic Polish audience heard a best of Sabaton set practically. It’s unusual among live CDs that the tracks aren’t edited, but here we can hear the narrations between the songs. This adds many “unnecessary” minutes to the material but simple listeners can also feel a bit of the atmosphere of the show. Either if you hear the audio material only, you can feel that the energy of “new’ Sabaton is the same as the old one’s was. But of course if you checked them out during the tour, you already knew this.
Anyway I recommend you to purchase the complete DVD set, because the CD can’t provide the same experience! And I think that in most countries there are no opportunities for such grandiose Sabaton shows than in Poland, Sweden or in Germany.
