A hangsúlyt koránt sem blastbeat-ek armadájára fektették, adalékként ugyanis a lábosba került egy csipetnyi progresszivitás, amit kellő adag félelemkeltéssel megszórva fejlesztettek tökélyre.

Említést érdemel a borító is, egyszerűsége ellenére ugyanis káprázatosan találó, remek alkotás, akárcsak maga a lemez.

ENGLISH VERSION:

This German band came out with a killing material against our infected Earth. It”s titled Privilegivm this time, which will spread like plague from this September. That”s because listening to it is infective. Others will might be immune from it, they will grab Secrets of the Moon in their hands as a treasure with a mysterious, cruel smile on their face. By listening to it, we can feel a bit this pleasant vision of the forthcoming plague. After hearing it, I have no doubt, this album is close to perfect.

The base of this material is of course black metal, but not in its classic meaning. The essence of this music is not about blastbeats. It rather composed of some progressive-like themes, and it”s peppered with some frightful themes to be perfect. Even if it misses fast tempo songs, we mustn”t think that it”s popular, true black metal. It doesn”t lean to mainstream at all. The atmosphere is temptingly mysterious and dark, so if you like albums whose strong side is its atmosphere, you can write now the date of release into your notepad. After reading their biography, I found that in 2007, after Daevas left, they have no foundation members in the band anymore. That would cause problems almost each time, but not now. Though I haven”t heard their earlier stuff, I”m sure that they don”t need feeling sorry for them, I”m sure that this stuff made by the new lineup is super strong.

Usually I don”t like when intros tease my nerves at the beginning of the tracklist, but this time, even the intro track, which has the same title as the album, affects me so deeply with its atmosphere, that I”d feel empty without it when I start to hear next track, Sulphur. The drums can be heard, then they fade into silence, increasing my attention, and then, when the guitars enter slowly, the whole song unfolds. With the screaming in the background, an overwhelming atmosphere evolves. This kind of threathening feeling is from start to end. After Sulphur, we can hear my favourite track, Black Halo. It starts with a melodic section. Then come the very simple, but characteristic, powerful riffs, which I loved the most. Through the end of the song, the tempo becomes fast, which is broken by the sound of a bell, and a prayer mumbled by a woman. Perfect ending. I Maldoror offers us some relieving moments among the songs of the psychotic terror. We can also hear a short and silent solo there. But in Harvest, we can enter the mysterious, dark atmosphere again. It”s a bit like Mayhem at their Maniac-era. We can say that the whole CD in general uses various themes. We can hear it from start to end, it”s a very true, stable stuff, all tracks are worthy to be listened. Only the closing song, Shepherd can be referred to as an exception. It”s full of solos, its melodic themes are full of pain. A hopeless sigh into the eternity.

The songs are longer than the average, but we can keep the interest through the end of the songs, there are no boring parts, even at the 13 minutes long track either. There”s always a part which is worthy to be listened, there are catchy themes. If you sink in them at the beginning of the album, you won”t notice that the songs are that long. Each minute of the album (which is more than an hour long) is golden. I must talk about the cover, it”s simple, but fits the whole album in an outstanding way. It”s really great, just like the whole album.

The brilliance of Privilegivm was a great surprise to me. I consider this to be the best black metal album of the year. I”m amazed. I became even happier when I hear that at the beginning of October, they will come to Hungary on their tour. So if you liked the new stuff, you can watch it live soon, and see how they will play on a concert. I believe that it will be worthy to attend the party on 4th at Diesel Club. The Moon showed its secret, now we are next to solve the mystery of this band.
