Aztán jön az első rendes szám, Fantasies Will Never Die, ami szintén megmutatja a Sorrows Path arcát.

Szóval összességében 10 számot tartalmaz a Touching Infinity.

Greece is a world famous country- one of the most important history period of human race, philosophy, science, beautiful nature…. But the south of Europe also gave us some great metal bands such as Rotting Christ, Septicflesh…. And also one band from Greece, and their new album that got to me for reviewing. That band is Sorrows Path with CD called Touching Infinity, their third album.

It is quite a common thing, that some albums start with an intro. Here, it is Intro To Infinity, which takes us back many years into history. And then we can continue with the first regular song Fantasies Will Never Die, which also shows the face of Sorrows Path. That means mixture of doom/heavy/power/progressive metal with some traditional elements. But the most significant influences of heavy and power are in Fantasies Will Never Die, in part thanks to the nice guitar solo. Next tune Leneh (for me the best song) is one with the more doom influence and with gloomy atmosphere. This is also present in My Chosen God with almost hardcore screaming in the refrain. And we can see maybe the strongest weapon of Sorrows Path is the discerning feeling for melodicism, when we can hear enough melodic passages in every tune. Beauty is another song where one can hear some traditional elements. And this is what I really appreciate, clever combination of metal with music from antiquity. Revival Of Feminine Grandeur is maybe the hardest song, which just a bit reminds me of Icon from legend Paradise Lost. And as I love Icon, I also have to love that song. And for the end, a title tune, an instrumental outro.

So, together we can hear 10 songs on Touching Infinity. As I have written before, this band from Greece combines on this album heavy and power with doom and progressive. And it depends on the song which genre will be dominant. Some of them are full of gloomy atmosphere, others more optimistic, but still epic. Yes, that is also one face of Sorrows Path- making epic music. All songs are full of melodicism, maybe the strongest influence of power and progressive. And a lot of guitar solos are really great. Doom is not so dominant as I would expect, but some songs are really masterpieces in this genre. Main singer Angelos use only clean vocals, which is good, because I cannot imagine growls in this kind of music. That HC scream which I have mentioned is a lonely extreme chant. I have also mentioned some traditional elements, which totally enrich this record, but there are still place for more.

Anyway, it depends on the band what kind of music to create and what elements to compose into it. Sorrows Path decided for a mixture of more metal genres such as doom, heavy, progressive, and the result is really great.
