Hot News – Jorn to release “Live in Black”: an emotional performance recorded at the Sweden Rock Festival 2010.

2011. Júl 5, 18:36 :

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of JORN’s ultimate Live experience “Live in Black” a 2 CD / DVD recorded focusing on his original repertoire recorded live at the Sweden Rock Festival 201o on August 23rd 2011 in North America and August 26th in Europe.

2010 was a significant year in Jorn’s career. Besides releasing a tribute album to his hero Ronnie James Dio, Jorn was invited to perform, together with Glenn Hughes, with Heaven & Hell on their final concert, at the High Voltage Festival in Victoria Park, London.

Just a few weeks earlier Jorn appeared at the Sweden Rock Festival, in Sölvesborg and blew the crowd of more than 25,000 fans away. “The special thing with “Live in Black” is that it captures a very rough, uncut and spontaneous moment in the bands history” tells Jorn Lande. “It was a hectic day with many interviews and several tv appearances and I also had to do a short speech and statement regarding the great Ronnie James Dio's untimely passing a few weeks earlier. The whole festival became in the spirit of Ronnie, and it was very moving to see everyone there, including the artists honoring his memory” recalls the Norwegian singer.

Hot News – Punch joins the Deathwish family, "Nothing Lasts" 7"EP out soon, on tour now

2011. Júl 5, 18:31 :

We are proud to welcome San Francisco's Punch to the DW affiliated family.

Punch "Nothing Lasts E.P." will be released by a partnership of Deathwish, Discos Huelga, and 625 Thrash.

A release date and Pre-ordering information will be coming soon.

In June of 2011, Punch piled into their two beat up Honda Civics in San Francisco, CA and set off on a twenty six minute journey to East Palo Alto, CA. With a population of just over four thousand gang members, East Palo Alto may be a peculiar place for a punk band to go, but nestled in its urban isolation is acclaimed engineer Jack Shirley and his Atomic Garden Studios (formerly the ShitBox). There under Shirley's attentive ears, Punch poured their patchwork sound into their latest work, "Nothing Lasts E.P.”

The influences on “Nothing Lasts” are as varied as the 5 members’ musical backgrounds, spending time in bands as diverse as Doppelganger, Loma Prieta, and Bullets In.

From Patrick Kindlon:
"Self Defense Family and Aficionado go way back, often sharing members. Perfect partners for this one-of-a-kind Russian public access television feature, the bands enjoyed the finest borsch and human trafficked sex slaves before filing into the Soviet-era soundstage and performing hits from their respective new albums. "It was like the movie Scarface, but with pale people," said Nick Warchol of Aficionado. "The location had a very Children of Men feel to it," reports Self Defense Family's Alan Huck. “It was the most scared I’ve ever been in my whole life,” added SDF guitarist Andrew Duggan. As pioneers of superfluous media formats, the bands will be releasing a Split LaserDisc featuring full sets from both bands and a behind the scenes featurette where the Americans join a Russian billionaire as he hunts the homeless on a 2,000 acre nature preserve..."
